This property is not secluded at all. Noise from neighbors as though you were in a community neighborhood. House has no drapes or screens so you literally bake all afternoon . When we were there it got over 100 degrees in the house! Fry pans were so old we couldn't fry any eggs in them without ending up scrambled.
Thanks for the review. We appreciate it. I'm sorry the cabin didn't meet your expectations. This particular cabin does not have AC. Typically in the evenings it drops down to the high 50s, so it's typically not a problem. The cabin is on a 20 acre parcel. We know there are other cabins nearby, but we've never experienced noise issues in the past. I'm sorry if it affected your stay.

"Family fun on Lake Cle Elum"

The cabin was just perfect for our family of four. The view is awesome and the stars are breathtaking. We were a little worried about lake levels preventing us from launching our boat but it looked like we just made it. Maybe this should be a word of caution to folks heading out mid to late summer. We took a float trip on the Cle Elum River with the guys from Troutwater. Although a little expensive it was great fun and we learned a lot. The crew really enjoyed our parting dinner at the Oasis in Roslyn. Good times!
Thanks for the great review and for staying with us! We appreciate it. We do hope to see you in the future.

The view from the cabin and deck is amazing, even better than the picture promises. The house contained everything we needed . It was a great place to bring our dog. The week was pretty hot so I think it would be helpful to add sun blocking drapes or blinds to the Livingroom windows and sliding doors to keep the hot afternoon sun out and to keep out the cold during the winter month.

We loved our stay at the cabin. The view of the lake was incredible. The cabin is very well laid out and thoughtfully stocked with kitchen supplies, children's books and even slippers. We relaxed as much as we possibly could with a 1 year old and Labrador to entertain. :)
Hi Marcos,Thanks for staying with us! We appreciate the great review. I'll mention the Hot Tub to the owner:)Thanks again,Kevin

We loved the location and the magnificent panoramic view! The cabin is beautiful, spotlessly clean, has a well equipped kitchen and wonderful comfortable beds. We only had one problem, and that was an awful, headache-inducing smell, which started in the bedrooms and on and off wafted through the house during our three-day stay. It seemed to be either insecticide or propane. This did put a damper on our stay. Otherwise the cabin is great.
Hi Birgit,Thanks for the review! We figured out the smell. There was a small gas can that was leaking in the basement garage. We appreciate you telling us about it and for staying with us.Sincerely,Kevin & Wendie

We were amazed by the location of this cabin, up on a winding road perched above Lake Cle Elum. Couldn't have asked for a better spot for a summer weekend.
The place is well-appointed and we had everything we needed (the kids in particular loved the bidet!). One thing to note is that the main loft (with a bed) is accessible via a "library ladder" and isn't a good place for younger kids. In fact it states it is for adult use only. There is another small loft however with a less steep ladder and twin bed and room for more kids. Plus they have lots of extra bedding.
I really hope we have a chance to visit again! I would stay longer next time.

I recently rented this home for a family vacation. I absolutely loved the view and location of the home! The home is in a very quiet & private spot. The house was clean and beautiful inside. Wendie and Kevin the property managers were great! They were very helpful and nice. I was very disappointed with the loft space though. On the posting it says there is a queen bed in the loft area, but what they fail to mention is unless you are Spiderman and not afraid of heights, it is not a viable option. To get to the bed you need to climb a library style ladder and there is no railing to hold onto to climb all the way up into the loft. No one in my family was willing to try and crawl over the edge to sleep in the loft, so everyone had to try and squeeze into the downstairs beds. I feel if there was a better railing put in for the loft area, this house would be absolutely perfect. Overall I would recommend this house as a beautiful place to stay.
Hi Renee,Thanks for the great review. We apologize for not describing the ladder to you better. For others reading this post Renee is correct. Her description is very accurate in that it is a library style ladder system. It's not a viable space for folks scared of heights or older in age. You can see the ladder to the left of the fireplace in the great room picture on our website. Thanks again for staying with us! Sincerely,Kevin & Wendie

I went up to the property on Fri and got a migrane that day. Not unusual for me except my medication didn't work, which is odd. Saturday, my wife met me up there and she experienced the same thing. She isn't prone to have headaches. Wierd. The property itself was great except for the lack of drapes.
Hi Jennifer,I'm sorry about the headaches. We've never had issues with guests having headaches in the past. It might have something to do with altitude. I believe the cabin sits at about 2,800 feet. Thanks for staying with us and maybe you can try out one of our other cabins next visit!Sincerely,Kevin & Wendie

Wonderful cabin in a wonderful setting. A great space for cooking together and other group activities. The view was excellent!
Only issue was getting cars up the hill when it snowed. We couldn't get our car with chains up, but our 4x4 truck made it just fine.
Only recommendation for the owners: please get a hot tub!
Hi Jeremiah,Thanks for staying with us and for the review! I will mention the Hot Tub recommendation to the owner. Thanks,Kevin

We would like to say we enjoyed the stay at the cabin. We never did get the cabin warm it was we had a cold breeze coming thru. we used up the one bundle of fire logs and made 2 trips to town and $100 for fire logs. The only thing else was the bathroom shower was a joke the water went every were.
Hi Mark,Thanks for the review and for staying with us! I'm hopeful you knew that the fireplace isn't the only source of heat. There is an all house heater controlled by the thermostat in the entry room. Hopefully you saw it there. The fireplace is more for ambiance. We will definitely look into the shower head issue. A note for other guests, firewood is not provided at the cabin. Thanks!Kevin & Wendie

We had a wonderful stay. The view was absolutely amazing, Kevin & Wendie were friendly and helpful, and the cabin was spotless. The steep windy road was a bit scary in the freezing rain, but we read the reviews and brought our chains and had no trouble at all. Highly recommend a visit to this peaceful, beautiful cabin.

We enjoyed our long weekend at Grandview. It's a secluded property with a great view of the lake. Nice deck with sun & views. It's a ways up the lake, so besf to bring what you need (though the Ronald General Store is worth a visit and has a good variety of things you might forget). Would definitely recomend to friends.

Otherwise everything was perfect. Winter guests definitely need a 4WD vehicle and even then possibly chains. Getting a dump of snow was awesome but it made the steep and windy hill to/from the cabin a challenge even with our 4WD Jeep. Not a bad thing, just somethign to be aware of when snow is in the forecast.
Hi Ken,Thanks for staying with us again! We appreciate the feedback. Some of our cabins have more cooking supplies than others. They all have the basic utensils, but we do rely on our guests to bring spices and pan spray. Yes, the road up to the cabin is steep for winter driving. It's plowed, but we do ask guests to bring 4WD vehicles and even then chains can be required at times when it's icy. If you ever run out of propane again just give us a call and we'll run up another tank! Thanks again!Kevin

I understand that there is alot of snow in the mountains, but I had to shovel a path from the driveway to the front porch. I would expect that should be done by the property managers. Other than that, no problems.
Hi Tom,Thanks for the feedback. We do shovel the snow whenever possible. Sometimes it's tough to get to every pathway when it's snowing consistently. We do leave snow shovels at each cabin so the guests can shovel the pathways during their stay. Sincerely,Kevin & Wendie

My husband and I brought our toddler and infant on our vacation stay at Grandview Hideaway and loved it. The cabin has great views, with sliding glass doors in every room to help you enjoy the great scenery around the cabin. We love to cook so the kitchen was great - stocked with cooking and baking utensils. The bunk bed was great fun for our toddler and the cabin has toys, Disney movies, books, and board games for kids to enjoy, which made the stay even better since we couldn't pack a bunch of toys and movies in luggage. This cabin is secluded with a bit of a drive away from the interstate.
Hi Jave,Thanks for the positive review! We appreciate it. I put a full jug of dish soap in the cabin 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure where it could have apologize for that. The owner does not provide firewood. We will add a comment to our listing so folks know in advance. Thanks again!Kevin
