No car required, no drink/drive problems...Clifden is the market town for Connemara, an area of exceptional natural beauty in the County of Galway in the West of Ireland. It lies in the center of access to the West of Ireland with Westport an hour to the North, Oughterard to the East en route to Galway City, an hour away, and, close to Roundstone to the South. Within easy access of the town is Kylemore Abbey and the Connemara National Park, and close by is the fishing village of Cleggan. A wide range of oudoor activitiesare supported by hotels, guest houses, rental houses and apartments, and includes Golf, Walking,Fishing at sea and in fresh water, on lakes and rivers for Salmon & Sea Trout, and famously for Brown Trout near Lough Corrib. Other activities such as eating out, drinking pints of Guinness and listening to traditional Irish music in a variety of local pubs, are the backdrop to the Clifden Pony Show, the Clifden Arts festival, and the April, June and September Golf Open Weeks at Ballyconneely(Connemara) Golf Links. Our apartment has it's own (single) parking space, and there is a bus route linking the town to Westport
and Galway, as well as further afield to Dublin and Knock Airports.
