This would probably have been Butch Cassidy's hide-out if he could have found it. The 20-acre parcel looks down over the spectacular Wapiti Valley, between Cody, Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park. It just doesn't get any better than this. The hide-out sits on the side of the mountain and what a yard you have! The Shoshone National Forest is your back door. You can hike and explore for miles and miles. Eventually, you would find Yellowstone to the west.
If this isn't paradise, you will agree it is really close. A private road serves the area winding up the mountain from Green Creek. From the deck you can see cars, really small cars, on the valley floor. The highway is the only road to Yellowstone from world famous Cody, Wyoming. Buffalo Bill is primarily responsible for the early development of the area and so the town of Cody.
This "cabin" on the mountain sure offers a lot in addition to the spectacular views. The yard will be home to all sorts of wildlife; deer, elk, bear, Big Horn Sheep, maybe even an occasional moose or mountain lion. The animals pretty much take care of the yard area, they mow and fertilize almost daily.
How about enjoying all of this and just plop down at the picnic table? It's really quiet up here, so be ready for your mind to wander all about.
Inside the cabin is the master bedroom with queen bed, really comfortable living room, small kitchen (easy to keep clean) and a spacious loft area. This doubles as a sleeping area with double bed and a queen bed. An additional bedroom with two twin beds and bath is located adjacent to the cabin. It is a very special family or vacation retreat.
You are only about a half hour drive to Yellowstone National Park, or go the other way for a half hour and you are in Cody.
The cabin in a 1 bedroom 1 bath with loft, the adjacent building has 1 twin bunk bed and a bathroom. Max number of guests is 6 for the cabin and 2 for the adjacent building. Any guests over 8 will be charged an additional $10/person/night.

Our family of 5 (three teenagers) stayed for a week to visit Yellowstone.
The cabin is at the end of a gravel road with switchbacks going up the hill. We had no trouble with it in our mid sized SUV (a low clearance 2 wheel drive car would have to be careful). The property is located where the foothills approach the mountain side. The view out the front of the property of the valley and mountain range is beautiful. We liked the location - 30 minutes to the East gate of Yellowstone, 20 minutes to Cody.
We enjoyed firing up the wood stove when we came back from Yellowstone to warm up the cabin. We cooked several nights using the gas grill and also hung out around the fire pit. There was plenty of firewood provided.
There is a nice viewing deck out front with two chairs and a table to enjoy the valley and mountains. It looks like a fairly new addition.
The beds very comfortable, the washer and dryer, coffee maker, dish washer all worked fine.
If your coming in thru Cody, we recommend stopping at the Walmart to pick up food if you intend to cook.
We fueled our car every night after visiting Yellowstone at the Red Barn, located on the highway at the turn off to the property. They have also have a small grocery store, and nice Wapiti tee shirts. They were very friendly to us.
We hiked along a trail to the left along the mountain side and climbed up into the rocks - our 14 year old boy had a blast. We took the bear spray that was provided in the cabin with us.
We noticed a 10 to 15 degree temperature drop from the cabin to Yellowstone.
Sandy and Dianne from Cody Lodging super to work with during the stay. Read more

Our only problem with this place is that we did not stay long enough. This place was great for staying close to Cody and Near the East gate of Yellowstone. The view on top of the mountain at this cabin is awesome. The cabin decks are great for unwinding at night. Sandi was great working with to set this up and great help for questions near by. I can not wait to come back and visit longer. Read more
