Large bathroom with custom tile, sink, & shower. Very comfortable new queen bed with high end furnishings. A/C and cozy gas fireplace stove. Private balcony with propane BBQ, chaise, chairs & table for viewing the very beautiful scenery of pine trees, deer & rabbits in the yard. Maybe even an elk or moose! Gated entry - very private. Daily, weekly and monthly rates available. We are about 25 minutes from the CDA Resort & golf course, Lake Coeur d'Alene & the beach. There are about 10 other golf courses in the area. We are about 40 minutes from Silverwood Theme Park. CDA has outdoor concerts in RIVERSTONE where you can take a picnic & enjoy the music. We are about an hour from Silver Mountain in Kellogg where they have mountain bike trails, concerts & many great events. Sandpoint is about another hour north & is a great little town to visit. You will love Coeur d'Alene with its friendly people, beautiful weather & summer events.
The Coeur d'Alene area, being situated on the western edge of the Rocky Mountains, gets just enough rain to stay green but we still get mostly sunny days. Since Coeur d'Alene is in the mountains at about 2300 feet elevation our summers are very comfortable. Most days are in the upper 70's or lower 80's with only about 10 to 15 days per year in the 90's.
There is much to do in North Idaho. We have 3 large lakes, Lake Coeur d'Alene, Hayden Lake and Lake Pend Oreille. On a summer day you will find much of our population enjoying boating, sailing, fishing, rowing, water skiing and riding their jet skis. We also have many smaller lakes, some of which freeze for a few weeks in the winter and are popular for ice skating and ice fishing. You will also find many concerts, plays, movie theaters and the northwest largest theme park, Silverwood.
Some of the most popular sports in this area are camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, rock climbing, river rafting, snow skiing, X-country skiing snowboarding and world class golfing. North Idaho has some of the best snow skiing areas in the country and lift tickets cost a small portion of what you would pay in some other places. North Idaho also has 3 beautiful bike paths. The "Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes" is a 72 mile long trail built on an old Rail Road right of way. You ride through a beautiful valley, then along the South shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene, through Heyburn State Park to the town of Harrison where you will find 3 places to eat and a bicycle shop. After Harrison the trail winds through a mixture of small farms and wetlands in the Chain Lakes Region where you will see an abundance of wildlife. The last leg takes you into the Silver Valley and ends in the small town of Mullan. There is a trail head with a restroom and a parking area about every 10 to 15 miles, so you don't need to do the whole trail in one day. The "Trail of the Hiawatha" ( also built on an old railroad) starts in Wallace Idaho and proceeds through tunnels and high bridges into Montana. The Centennial Trail is 60 miles long and begins at Higgins Point on Lake Coeur d'Alene and goes through the towns of Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls. This section is heavily used by walkers and skaters in addition to bikers. Beginning just west of Coeur d'Alene the trail follows the Spokane River into Washington State and ends somewhere west of Spokane.
North Idaho also has many unique features. In front of the "Coeur d'Alene Resort" is the worlds longest floating boardwalk. The worlds longest tram is from the town of Kellogg up the side of Silver Mountain. The St.Joe River, flowing from Montana to Lake Coeur d'Alene near the town of St.Maries Idaho, is the worlds highest elevation navigable river. The upper St.Joe is famous for it's great fly fishing. The Rathdrum Aquifer supplies water to most of the population of Kootenai County Idaho and Spokane County Washington and is said to be the worlds fastest flowing underground river.

After a long drive, Carriage House was exactly what we needed - quiet, secluded, romantic rest. Judy, Frank and their four legged family members were very welcoming. The home was spotless and contained all the comforts of home from coffee and tea to an extra toothbrush. We enjoyed a short, 3 hour, walk in the National Forest. We came back to barbecue our steak and baked potatoes. We were entertained by a evening rain shower while we watched a movie from the library. The shower was relaxing and the hot water supply seemed unending. In addition to the sweet resident dogs we were visited by wild rabbits and a white tail deer. We will certainly remember this property for future visits to Coeur d'Alene. Thank you Judy and Frank for this unforgettable anniversary weekend.

Found this property at the last minute. The owners , Judy & Frank answered our request immediately and were the most perfect hosts from that moment until the end of our stay. Absolutely every detail is taken care of. We arrived to homemade cookies and a lovely bottle of wine for our first night there. Greatly appreciated! Their cozy property is secluded in the forest area making for a very relaxing stay. The rental is beautiful and is equipped with everything you could possible need . We would definitely recommend this property - you will not be disappointed!!!!
Thanks again Judy & Frank!

Everything about Carriage House was lovely including our hosts, Judy and Frank. We stayed here for a week with our 10 month old son and really couldn't have asked for a more lovely place to stay. The photographs don't do it justice and all the little touches really do make it special. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but you have all the mod cons and Coeur D'Alene is only a short drive away. Sleeping at tree level and being able to look out the big picture window was great. We would definitely stay there again.

We had an amazing two night stay here while visiting Coeur D'Alene for a job interview. Even minutes outside of town you can feel completely enveloped by nature here with the only sounds and lights coming from the forest. The apartment was beautiful and very well equipped with a great kitchen for cooking, large deck for eating outside and enjoying the expansive mountain view, and an amazing shower which was a plus to us after strenuous hiking/running near the property. Plus for outdoor lovers is it is right in the national forest so ample opportunities for hiking. The owners were very gracious and available for any needs. Would definitely stay there again!

This home was even better than the photos show. From the first moment we walked in, we felt at home. The furnishings were wonderful , there was everything we needed to spend the summer. The owners provided us with lovely linens and pillows, a great selection of Dvd's, cookbooks, games and wifi.
Our view out the back provided us with hours of fun watching a family of deer eat and play. The owner's dogs were also great fun. Very friendly and loving.
This location gave us a peaceful quiet home in the woods within 20 minutes from town.
Coeur d alene is a wonderful place to stay. It had wonderful restaurants, hiking, bike paths, water sports and great shopping. The weather is great with warms days and cool nights. Even the library is special.
We will return again and try another season in this beautiful place.

The Carriage House is tastefully appointed and quite comfortable. The hosts are gracious and eager to insure you have what you need for your stay. It is relaxing to sit on the balcony and have coffee in the morning. While off the beaten path the ride back to restaurants and stores is forested and beautiful. There is literature about the area in the Carriage House and the hosts can also recommend good restaurants. We saw deer in the back yard and also a wild turkey. It is a beautiful setting and we had a great time here.

Flipkey promised us a flawless mountainside gem with commanding balcony views, but our real delight was in its fine details... Everything in the Carriage House was as it should be, where it should be, and of the highest quality it could be.
Kudos to our hosts for transforming an attic into a charming architectural dream, while keeping it fido friendly as well. Ch is our idea of a perfect cozy nest in the forest.
