My husband and I recently spent a week at Mezzegra Majestic Vista. The villa is well equipped and easy to maintain. We were disappointed in the lower bedroom. It was definitely not suitable for young children(which my daughter had booked for) as the very narrow spiral staircase had wide slats which a child could have fallen through. It was difficult for senior adults to climb as well, never mind drag heavy suitcases down . There was no window down in this basement room ,only a window well which let in some light and air but because of no screening let bugs in as well.It was necessary to keep the doors closed at night . Our friends found a small scorpion in their bedding!!. It was a pretty room otherwise but felt claustrophobic and a little damp.
The master bedroom lacked screening we had mosquitoes at night which forced us to close the window.
We asked for an extra bath towel as we were only provided with one bath and one hand towel. The property agent said he never received our text The pool was pretty but we didn't use it as it was a cool 68degrees! One thing I would recommend was that there should be a book or list of what to do if something went wrong. We had a quick verbal review the day we arrived but after 24 hours of travel it is easy to forget .The cleaners were there when we arrived at 4pm so we had to sit outside for an hour while they cleaned. The fee of 145 euros seems excessive.
We had a complete power failure one evening and with no candles or a flashlight it was difficult to see. The next door neighbour was most helpful and showed my husband where to fix the problem in the garage below. There was no answer from the property manager to our texts. It would have been helpful to have emergency numbers and some info about where to go for a Dr. or a hospital
Non of these little things deterred us from having a wonderful first time vacation in Italy and the beautiful Lake Como.
Many thanks for your feedback. We are glad on the whole you enjoyed your stay and appreciate the time taken to add your comments. I understand as your daughter was not able to travel you took the holiday instead. We wish your daughter a speedy recovery and send her our best wishes. Unfortunately when a home is chosen by another person or party we understand it may not be ideal or be the perfect fit for the person who eventually travels and expectations can differ if course (and of course we understand the circumstances for the change in personnel staying) For eg whilst spiral staicases can be fine for your daugher i understood one of your party had difficulty using these. In fact we mention on the advert clearly that the home is unsuitable for eldely or infirm guests and to enquire if children staying.Hence the managers showed you the outside entrance which takes to the lower bedroom for easy access. We always explain about the electric, infact for this home the managers take all guests around to view a the three electric points that could trip-off in the event of a storm or if using excessive electricy (ie oven, wash machine, dishwasher together as the voltage is lower in italy for useage) Regarding your messsage to us. We received this at 11.30 pm and we which we saw in the morning however the neighbour reset the light for them who we personally thanked him. I agree one or two torches could come handy in future which we will liase with the owner We did not received any feedback during your stay or on departure re a scorpion in the home, this is very rare but can happen from time to time on the lake when weather is hot. The scorpions, whilst never welcome, here on the lake at least, they are not deadly. For emergency we always say to our guests that there is now a single number 112: easy to remember and this is given to every customer to store for an emergency. Re the bedroom, the home has been newly renovated and this is the first summer of renting following the removation. The owner is very responsive and what's all guests to enjoy their stay with every comfort and as such will be installing a plumbed in dehumidifier to remove moisture and eliminate any damp this winter for the new season plus adding wifi as we seek to ensure the homes meets every expectation for each guest plus each year the flyscreens are replaced or maintained as required. Pool was very warm in August as you mention, in fact i used pool today and was warm enough to swim in mid september, 3 weeks after your stay. 145 euro was the balance on arrival, the cleaning part was 110 as advertised and 145. Many thanks once more for your valued comments.

Bella Vista is a lovely apartment - very clean, comfortable and well equipt with tasteful, contemporary furniture and accessories. It has spectacular views over the lake and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the constant activity on the lake - fishing boats, waterskiers, ferries coming and going and occasionally the planes landing on the water. Being slightly elevated above the lake also meant we often had a breeze which is an advantage. The pool is a short walk from the apartment and was never too busy. There are portable sunloungers in the apartment for use at the pool.
The property managers are very efficient and and provide useful tips on places to visit and made us a reservation at Crotto Dei Platani - a fantastic restaurant near Brienno, where we had a very memeorable evening. The home managers Roy and Fabiana were also very pleasant and helpful.
The apartment is in a great location on the lake - a 10 minute walk (quite steep) takes you down to the ferry station at Lenno where you can get boats to all the other parts of the lake. The lakeside in Lenno is pretty with a few restaurants and bars overlooking the lake and a great gelateria too! On certain days you can also walk from here to the beautiful Villa del Balbianello, with its gorgeous gardens. We particularly enjoyed our visits to Varenna - less busy than Bellagio and the pretty Villa Monastero gardens which line the lakeside are well worth seeing.
It was our first visit to Lake Como and we can thoroughly recommend it!

We had a great family stay at this lovely apartment. Fantastic views, a great location with easy (but steep) walk to good local restaurants, shops and lake ferries. The property was well maintained and equipped and the check-in and check-out arrangements were well managed and friendly.
