3 km from the lakeshore. Lake Como is one of the most unforgettable, scenic lakes in entire world. Set in the mountains of Northern Italy, with a near perfect Mediterranean climate, tropical and sub-tropical plants grow year-round. Average temperature in the winter is around 55 F and summer of 86 F in July. Lake Como is the third largest lake in all of Italy and one of the deepest lakes in Europe at 656 ft. below sea level. With its ancient history, stunning scenery, numerous famous villas, gardens and quaint villages nearby, there are many discoveries to be made. Lake Como has been a popular romantic retreat for aristocrats and celebrities since Roman times. Lake Como is, with the warmth of its local people in a private romantic setting apart from any other.
