Description
Casa Verde is a beautiful, newly decorated, traditional village house in the picturesque white mountain village of Competa, Andalucia with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house has lots of character, with original decorative floor tiles throughout and high ceilings with original features. There are two roof terraces with breathtaking views across the village, the mountains and to the sea. The house is in an excellent location within short walking distance of all local amenities.
The house has an open-plan layout and large floor-to-ceiling windows with patio doors opening onto juliette balconies in the main rooms, which gives it a bright and airy feel. Casa Verde is furnished to a high standard and accommodates up to six guests (plus baby; a cot and high-chair are available on request).
From the street level, original doors open to an entrance hall from where a short, wide staircase leads up to the open plan living/dining room with a traditional balcony overlooking the square. The new, fully fitted kitchen is located on the same floor. The second floor comprises of two bedrooms, one double and one twin (twin is accessed from the double bedroom). The top floor has a large bathroom and access to the two roof terraces with sweeping views across the beautiful surrounding area. The roof terraces are fully equipped for outdoor living, sunbathing and dining. A further double bedroom and en-suite newly fitted bathroom, are located on the ground floor, with entrance from either the main house or the street.
The location is very convenient, yet quiet, on a pretty street just three minutes' walk from the main town plaza with its church, bars, restaurants and shops. There is also a bakery/convenience store just a few doors away – very handy for those breakfast pastries!

In response to a number of comments: Re staircases: This is a typical, charming, traditional village house in a hill town. It is clear from the photos and description of the house that it has several floors, including two roof terraces and therefore has stairs. We would not describe the stairs as 'extremely steep' - they are typical stairs for a house in Competa and similar hill villages. We have had a wide range of guests from many countries and of all ages stay at Casa Verde over many years and have never had any issues or concerns raised regarding the stairs. We stayed at the house many times with our children from when they were very young and our elderly parents spend a number of enjoyable weeks a year there too without any problems. We have, however, never advertised the house as being suitable for elderly or disabled people as we do recognize that any stairs could present issues for these groups. Re air conditioning: The house does not have air conditioning (it is also not described as having air conditioning). It does, however, have fans to keep the rooms cool. Again, this is typical for a traditional house in the area. When it's hot outside, the locals tend to close the window shutters and switch on the fans if needed. We have always found that this keeps the house cool. Regarding access to the 3rd bedroom: It is clearly stated in the property description on Tripadvisor that access to the 3rd (twin) bedroom is via the double bedroom on the first floor. We find that the twin bedroom is often used as a children's bedroom by our guests. Parents travelling with younger children like the fact that the twin bedroom is directly accessible from the upstairs double bedroom and that the children are nearby. We have received only positive reviews from our guests over the years, reflecting Casa Verde's charm, amenities, location and the excellent level of customer service we pride ourselves in providing.

“Wonderful house in a superb location”
Had the pleasure of staying here in August 2016 with my partner and our four children aged from ten to eighteen. The house catered to all our needs with the layout letting everyone have their individual space. The ensuite bathroom in the ground floor bedroom and the bathroom at th top of the house were ideal for us all to use. The kitchen and dining room with the sofa converting to another double bed were again ideal. The roof terraces in the evening after a meal in the village were just an idyllic way to relax. Casa Verde is only a half hour drive through some beautiful mountain roads, with lots of twists and turns, from the coast. We found the resort of Torrox Costa nice and the beaches at Nerja just wonderful. The village of Competa also has everything that you need for your stay. The main square and it's restaurants and great. There are also other restaurants in the village. There is a swimmin pool at the hotel in the village that charges just 3 Euros per person for all day and another 3 Euros per sunbed if you want one. I did see weekly passes available although didn't need one so can't comment on the price. There are also plenty of supermarkets in the area. Car parking is again ample with the car park at the top of the village being closer to the house that the one at the bottom. Iris, the owner, was superb in her communication before we went and advised on what I needed to know. She also provided her number should we have needed to get in touch whilst there. Overall a superb family stay in a beautiful location.

“Perfect location in Competa- footsteps from the church & square”
This house was a perfect getaway for us in Costa del Sol. It is 30 minutes to a beach and yet in mountains. I would stay here again and high recommend it.
