Alexandra is a Canadian-born art historian who has been living in Florence, Italy since 1999. Her goal is to “make art accessible”, so she applies her academic learning to helping others discover art through writing, photography and experience. Her own love of art came from extensive European travel as a child, and she hopes that others can find ways to learn through travel and exploration, wherever they are.
She began ArtTrav, a blog about art, life and travel in Italy, in 2004. She has worked for the Region of Tuscany’s official social media team and is now on the staff of the city’s English-language newspaper, The Florentine.
