“The best spot of entire Lagoon” We have studied quite many accomodations on aitutaki and finally decided to go to aitutaki Ootu Villa, which we definitely did not regret at all. On the contrary: We found this place to be the best spot on the Island even if it is some km from the main city, but there are nice restaurants (Samade, The Boat Shed Bar & Grill, Kouru Cafe) in walking distance. Alone for a supermarket a scooter is needed. Nora's familiy gave us a warm welcome and always had an open ear for us to make our stay most pleasurable. The villa is very new, spacious and very recommendable for a big familiy or two couples. Kitchen is well equipped for full self-containement. Due to travel schedule we only stayed 6 nights, could have easily spent 2 or 3 weeks there.

“Home from home!” I stumbled onto this place when I was driving around the island and loved how it was on the main road but yet so private! It's located 2 mins fron the beach and walking distance to shops and the resorts! The house it self is fantastic feels like home as soon as u enter! Very spacious open plan living and an amazing deck to sit out enjoying the weather n views of the mountain! Also the best passion fruit tree with fruit the size of tennis balls amazingly in a Gin and tonic! Have stayed there 3 times and will do so next time!

About Cook Islands

Beautiful and tranquil surroundings await travelers in the Cook Islands, a group of 15 sandy islands situated in the South Pacific. Visitors are drawn to the pristine beaches surrounded by sparkling blue waters and lush tropical scenery. Cook Islands diving, swimming, inland trekking, boating, and guided walking trips are just a handful of activities that outdoor enthusiasts can engage in. Culture buffs will be entertained by the area's historical sites while nature lovers will enjoy exploring the spectacular wonder of the mountainous regions and familiarizing themselves with the local fauna and flora. Be sure to spend some time near the picture perfect Cook Islands' surf, a popular location for Cook Islands honeymoons and Cook Islands weddings.

Here are a few additional suggestions of things to do in the area:

  • Rarotonga: Rarotonga, the largest of the Cook Islands, showcases a spectacular landscape. It features beautiful mountains, dense jungle, and picture-perfect white beaches.
  • Aitutaki: This hook-shaped atoll resides on top of one of the biggest coral lagoons in the world. Visitors will see a host of amazing marine life, including technicolor tropical fish and giant clams.
  • The Museum at Takamoa: This museum features an assortment of exquisite Cook Islands' handicrafts. A three-hour cultural tour provides visitors the chance to view demonstrations in coconut husking, fire making, carving, and weaving, among other traditions of the region.
  • The Papua Waterfall: Also known as Wigmore's Waterfall, this spectacular natural wonder is the only waterfall on the islands. It is situated on Vaimaanga and is a breathtaking sight to behold.
  • The Takamoa Mission House: Constructed in 1842, this building is thought to be the second-oldest structure in the South Pacific.

The Cook Islands are a breathtaking place to visit, and when you choose to stay in a vacation rental, this little piece of paradise becomes your temporary home. For your next trip here, rent a condo or villa by the beach where you will be able to enjoy all of the modern amenities you need in surroundings you have only dreamed of.

Te Vai Moana Luxury Villa Aitutaki
Perfect place to stay on the perfect holiday destination island-

Very new and modern self catering accommodation when staying on aitutaki. This Villa has everything you need to ensure you leave with a smile on your face. Louvre windows allow the beautiful breeze to flow through as well as ceiling fans and and air conditioner to cool you down. A large deck area for Bbqs and entertaining or to sit and read a book as you look out toward the most beautiful blue water surrounding the island. The kitchen has everything you need and the owners have thought of everything possible to make your stay perfect. This Villa sleep up to seven using the settee. There is also a TV and video player just in case. As everywhere is never far away from anything on aitutaki this is a great option and only a short scooter or car trip to the town area for supplies. The owners Puk and Sara are continually adding their touch to their property when they visit to ensure all visitors wont be disappointed. Enjoy this magic Island and it's friendly people, a memorable holiday awaits anyone who holiday's at this awesome spot.see more
Aitutaki Ootu Villa
Hidden Gem

Simply spending one day on the verandah feels like you've spent a week on holidays. It is located on a quite section of the island where the locals go to relax by the water. With views over the lagoon, it is a place you could spend an eternity at. Nora and Rema were superb with coordinating the booking and making sure everything was ready for our arrival, as well as making us feel like part of the family. Having stayed at a resort previously, Ootu provided the freedom you would like on an island like this. Importantly it provided the opportunity to cook our own meals without having to eat out every meal (which can be quite expensive). Scooter hire, fishing, sail boats, stand up paddle boards and more are located right at the front door. The best part of the experience was waking up and walking 10m to the beach and shallow lagoon section directly in front of the house and going for a morning/midday/afternoon/evening swim. Have already booked again for next time.see more

Perfect family getaway

The location of the house is perfect with a fantastic and safe beach right on the door step. Plenty of space for 8 adults to relax and not feel like they are on top of each other. Close to amenities and easy access to everything you need. Mark was fantastic, friendly and helpful without being imposing at all. Gave us loads of hints and advice for activities on the island. The house is well-equipped with everything you will need for a perfect holiday. Kayaks and snorkelling gear were great for the lagoon and the house had plenty of games and books. We had the best holiday and anchors Rest was perfect.see more
Pacific Time family villa, 2 or 3 bedrooms
Fantastic house for a family and the necessities needed for a relaxing holiday

Pacific time holiday house had everything we needed for a family of four including two kids under 5. We were after a place that was like a home away from home and this is exactly what we got. Gabrielle was informative with information about her home and what we could do in the surrounding areas. For those travelling without kids The Crown which is just down the road has beautiful food, drinks and coffee. We had family also staying on the island so we're lucky enough to have some kid free time Car/Bike rental close to home (within walking distance). We hired a car and a scooter so we could experience the island and the kids loved the convertible cars:). Highly recommend a visit to the beach bedside The Rarotongan (just a quick ride own the road) perfect location for snorkelling. Also recommend a ride to Muri which is where the main attractions are. We loved the scenic drive and the kids did alsosee more
