Take the bike 5 minutes to the Douglas Rd. MetroRail station (bikes OK on the train) and go to center city for a concert, a Heat game, a Marlins game, or fabulous downtown shopping and dining. Adria: Eugene is a great, accommodating host! The room was clean and comfortable, in a nice quiet area but not too far from public transportation. Definitely a good place to stay!
Jade: Eugene is a friendly, welcoming and accommodating host. The room was clean, and he even offered breakfast. .
Stuart: Exceptionally gracious host who went beyond the call of duty to accommodate my recent short stay in Miami. I would highly recommend Eugene's home to anyone with south Florida travel plans. Very affordable, very clean, conveniently located
Joel: Eugene is a fantastic host and a stellar conversationalist. He made sure that my fiancée, a friend and I were always comfortable even after a last minute reservation. Eugene is also a great chef so talk him into cooking for you! :-)
Raimo: Eugene was a very gracious host, he was able to pick us up from the airport and we used his hospitality to get a ride to the mall to do our shopping. On top of that he made us breakfast twice! If you stay, ask for the bacon… he makes perfect bacon and it was from the microwave: my skepticism was brushed away! He has friendly dogs who are quite well behaved and give you a warm welcome.
Boris: The kindliness and care Eugene took with me was absolutely unexpected.
Elena: He is a great host!! prepares delicious breakfasts, bakes awesome bread, and cooks wonderful beans and rice, the house is nice and clean, he has four dogs which are really friendly and fun, Gene makes you feel confortable and at home!! I would totally recomend to stay there.
Chris: There is really no need to stay directly in Miami or Miami Beach even if you don't have a car. If you stay in Gene's place, make sure you don't leave in the morning without one of his smoothies or a piece of his home-made herb bread. :-) I'll be back, that's for sure.
Xingyuan: This was a great option! Breakfast was delicious, Eugene was a personable host, and the proximity to the Metro Rail and short drive to get onto I-95 made the location itself quite convenient.
As a Coral Gables BNB guest, you'll have access to terrific amenities. You can use one of our mountain bikes ($5/day - covers repairs & loss); we'll drive you anywhere within 5 mi. for $10 (one-way); you can leave your luggage here after your stay ($3/day). We even forward mail for free!
We'll sit and talk with you, and discuss anything from Nietzsche & Freud to Obamacare & federal debt, from the perspective of a Harvard College guy schooled in running public companies for decades. Or just enjoy your privacy and quietly sit with Hennessy & Licker (our dogs) in the Garden. It's up to you!
Coral Gables is the "Venice of America." You can bike to the Venetian pool and take a dip there, or go to Downtown Miracle Mile and shop at glorious stores, or just walk around the corner to the 200 shops at legendary Village of Merrick Park. Grab a pizza at Sir Pizza, a lunch at Cafe Violetta, or visit the Coral Gables Museums. Walk on nearby incredible beaches, or I'll drop you off at Crandon Park (more like Cape Cod than anything on earth) and bike around Key Biscayne Village - we'll take you there with bikes and pick you up.
Douglas Rd. Metrorail Station is a 10-minute walk from the house, or you can take your car (safe parking here at home) and go to the Planetarium and Science Museum (10 mins.) or further into the CIty for all the wonders of South Beach, downtown MIami (one of the world's great financial centers) or eat at any of 200 great restaurants all within biking distance. We can take you to the airport ($10 each way) when you depart, or simply decide to stay indefinitely! (You just might.)
Keyless Entry, 24 x 7 fresh homemade bread and butter (honey, jam, you decide!), loving & ever-welcoming doggies....it's just a nice, friendly, homey place to be. I'm here most of the time. Let's take a walk with the kids (Henny & Licky), or wander around the neighborhood and gaze, or go visit the 100 year-old Banyan trees at the Coral Gables Library walk. Enjoy.
