Was born at the same time as my friend, the old pine tree Il Vecchio Pino. We are both happy to live in a place like this, surrounded by wild woods full of olive trees, nestling in the large well-kept garden full of plants, flowers, singing birds and a beautiful pool. We are very lucky: I was once a simple farmhouse, but my owners' love and care have turned me into a splendid country house, equipped with every modern comfort. My owners are lovers of beautiful and natural things and have converted me using only natural, chemical-free products to preserve the serenity that you find in every room. I have been covered with a cork roof, the floors are made of warm Tuscan terracotta and the walls are painted with water colours. On the ground floor is the sitting room, brightly painted in Estruscan red. The original 17th-century chest compliments the focal point of the room: a 19th-century liberty fireplace made of pietra serena. There are also two modern and comfortable sofas where you can watch satellite tv or just relax and listen to music, whilst admiring the spectacular view of the Tuscan countryside from the four large picture windows. Next lies the spacious dining room, painted in a sunny yellow colour. This has another fireplace ideal for grilling. The painted glass-fronted cupboard is from the 18th century while the sofa, the chest of drawers and the plate cabinet are all dating from the 19th century. From here you can access a reading and writing area situated under brick and stone vaults, or to my small, precious toilet. Finally you go to my kitchen, which I am very proud of. It is beautifully decorated with handmade painted tiles in the colours of old cortonese ceramics, and functional: 5 gas hobs, microwave, dishwasher, oven, fridge and freezer. The stone staircase which leads you to the first floor has a bookcase with a wide range of Italian, English and French books. At the top of this staircase, a beautiful stained- glass door leads to the bedrooms. The master bedroom is decorated in antique pink, orange and gold and has an antique French bed - the headboard and the abat-jours date back to the eighteenth century. There are also a wardrobe and two large antique mirrors. From the window you can see the pool and the surroundings wood. The other bedroom has two single beds and is decorated in lilac with modern furnishings. Then there is my bathroom, tiled in light blue and white. Finally, at the ground floor, there is one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom that has been lately aded to the house: it has its private entrance and direct access to the garden. The suite comes from an old cobblers shop: the sink has old-fashioned copper taps. Outside lies a large terrace where you can sit and eat in the summer, enjoying the views of the Tuscan/Umbrian countryside. Below the terrace is a double garage. In the lower garden, situated next to a children's play area, is a small wooden chalet which hides the laundry room. Under the wide terrace, that you can use for wonderful outdoor dinners, there is a garage. Come and visit me, I will show you some beutiful paths in the woods, among squirrels and pheasants. I will bring you to the Trasimeno lake; I will let you taste the old Tuscan cookery; you will get yourself back as soon as we arrive at San Francis' monastery. Your dreams will be safe here with me, nobody will be able to steal them because they will be protected by the safe and external and internal alarm system. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon.TripAdvisor property ID 4303503...Read more

It has long been a dream to rent a villa in Tuscany, a place for our family to gather together. Villa antico Pino exceeded anything I had pictured. The villa is immaculate and wonderfully appointed. The pool was a joy in the hot July weather, and the gardens and grounds rivaled those in any magazine. The location, just a few miles outside of Cortona, makes it easy to get to the village.
Marina, the owner, could not have been more charming and friendly, making sure that all our needs were met.(Be sure to visit her shop Vanelli's for coffee and pastries!)
