Why Cullera?

Dubbed the best beaches in Valencia by TripAdvisor reviews, Cullera’s golden sands, copious restaurants and excellent bars cater mainly to a Spanish audience, so if you’re hoping to beat the crowds of the more traditional Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz, look no further. Before you arrive, however, you’ll need to choose which of Cullera’s 11 postcard-worthy beaches you plan to stay at. More than half of them have been awarded coveted Blue Flag status, marking them among the cleanest and safest beaches in the world—perfect for a family vacation.

Apartments in Cullera range from compact high-rise suites near the beach to more secluded apartments with pools. In Cullera, self-catering apartments are a great way to have an affordable vacation, saving the restaurants for special treats (and those evenings when you just can’t be bothered to cook for the family!).

Which beach?

With the exceptions of two secluded coves, all of Cullera’s beaches provide excellent amenities, from restaurants and bars to watersports facilities. So which beach should you pick?

Playa los Olivos is a 500-meter beach lined with palm trees and lapped by turquoise sea. Breakwaters at either end of the beach, and the long, gentle slope of the seabed make for exceptionally safe and calm waters. It’s the ideal choice if you’re traveling with young children.

Windsurfers will enjoy Playa Cap Blanc. If you’d like to have a go, the best time to visit is in the morning, before the gentle sea breezes become serious winds. There are instructors and surf shops on hand who will be happy to get you started.

If you’re looking for real peace and quiet, however, consider traveling south of Cullera to Playa Brosquil. It’s almost two kilometers long, so you’re guaranteed to find a relaxing spot in the shade of the orange trees that grow nearby.
