Additional Location Information

This property for 2/3 is situated in Bassenthwaite Village (which is a hamlet with a village green, a pub, a church a Methodist chapel, but no all year round shop, only a seasonal one on the nearby caravan park)The Studio is situated on a village farm half a mile from the A591 , 6 miles north of Keswick, 35 minutes from junction 40 on the M6. It is ideal for a quiet get a way switch off and unwind holiday where you can potter round the intresting village lanes, sit by the stream and relax with a good book and a glass of wine, or take breakfast there (weather permitting!) and just watch the world go by. Many hours can be spent watching our comical indian runner ducks as they waddle too and fro from farm to stream, wandering up all the little paths across the stream looking for tasty worms and grubs and Pit pat waddle patting over the wooden bridge in single file. We hatch ducklings twice yearly, so we often have the young babies on the grassy area by the stream for all to watch.Egg collecting in the morning is quiter an event when we let the ducks out from their overnight shed. Only a few yards away, just a gentle stroll up the riverside is our local Inn full of character serving good food . The whole of the Lakes are within easy reach, Keswick and Cockermouth our nearest towns only 6 miles away. Trotters Animal World is one mile, the famous Osprey Viewpoint 2 miles, Winlatter (go-Ape) and Mountain Bike Visitor centre 8 miles, Skiddaw mountain 2 miles. Dash Falls, 2 miles. parking is mainly off road.
