The condo was nice, clean and well cared for. The owner clearly cares about providing her guests with a nice, comfortable stay. The furniture is nice, the beds are nice, the fridge is large, there is a patio, there is clean drinking water, it is on the first floor so you don't have to take luggage up to the 3rd floor and the directions from David are extremely detailed. The pool was nice. It was large and had a large portion that was about 1 foot deep and there were plenty of chairs. I cannot give the condo 5 stars because Playa Barqueta didn't totally fit my definition of paradise but it might fit your definition of paradise. It was quite hot so we limited our midday activities. The beach is extremely wide, endless and deserted. The downside is that everyone tells you, "Don't get drowned by the undertow." I'm not sure what percentage of people die but when you listen to haters it makes it sound like 100%. The beach is so flat you'd think you could play around and have some fun in the water but we decided to not have our 9 year old out there taking his chances. So, if your definition of paradise includes playing freely in the ocean this location does not fit your definition. However, if you are looking for a remote beach and a nice place to stay this just might be paradise for you. Two traveling tips: The directions start from the "Rey" grocery store in David. Do your grocery shopping for the entire trip there. If you forget anything you're looking at a 30 minute drive back to town. There is a tiny grocery about 5 minutes away but if you need a lot of groceries shop at Rey. Make a list in advance. Condos don't always have oil, butter, spices, etc. Tip 2: The condo owner (Nina) arranged a fishing trip and jungle adventure for us w/ a local guy (Alexander). The fishing didn't work out but we saw 3 families of (poop throwing) howler monkeys. That was awesome and although the monkeys hit me w/ some branches they missed us with the poop. We'll never forget that! Read more
Thanks so much for your comments. I did change the pool photo to better show off the large, clean pool. The pool is wonderful because you are correct that you have to use caution when going in the ocean at certain tides and conditions, especially with children. We love the remoteness and solitude of Playa La Barqueta, but some people want a bit more "action" during vacations. I am glad you were able to enjoy the lagoon and monkey tour and not get hit by unwanted flying objects!

A beautiful clean and quiet condo. I have mold allergies and this condo is free of molds. The pool is very nice and the perfect temperature after a walk on the beach. It is not a crowded busy place, so a wonderful place to have lots of fun and peace at the same time. The kitchen is super nice and fully stocked, also washer and dryer for you to use. I was here two years ago and came back to the same condo. The end unit is perfect and it is on the main floor. A good place for families to meet you at and have some Panama fun. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family did. Was hard to come back home.
Enjoyed a beautiful and peaceful vacation in a beachfront condo

Condo was clean and well equiped upon arrival. The end unit was ideal for privacy. The Dvds were pleantiful and had something for everyone to enjoy. The hotel next to the condo complex had excellent meals at a reasonable price. The pool was clean, big and relaxing. The locals are friendly and helpful with information. The only issues were that the TV took some getting used to with Google and the microwave's chrome cover was constantly falling off. It was reported to Craig who said he would get it fixed. Overall, a great vacation. Read more
Hi Rose. I am happy to hear you had a nice vacation. Thank you so much for your review and for reporting the microwave problem to my manager Craig. We always want to make sure everything is in perfect working order and have called the electrician to repair the microwave. We hope to see you again.
Wow, great stay!

We stayed at 3 different house throughout Panama (this trip)and this one was the best! It was also the cheapest, but highest quality too. Great condo, great technology (Internet, TV, Movies, Weather info), very clean, very secure, great artwork. My kids (7, 12, 18) didn't want to leave.
Tip #1: We checked in on Sunday late afternoon and the pool and beach were "very busy", but by sunset they were empty. I guess this is a weekend retreat for the locals. From Sunday night to Thursday night we were the only people (except the security guy) on the beach, pool and basically the whole area. So if you ever dreamed of booking a whole resort/beach to be by your selves, book through the weekday.
Tip #2: Stop by the market in David to pick up supplies on the way to the condo. There isn't much shopping in the area and it is the longest 20+KM I have ever driven (to David). The condo is really off the beaten path, which is what we wanted.
Tip #3: We didn't swim in the ocean because the waves were "huge" (easily 10' to 20' waves) and scary. It was okay because the beach was beautiful and the pool was great to swim in. The beach is black sand and it was about 16KM long. We ran through the waves on shore, but again the waves were just too big for us. The locals (on Sunday) were swimming in it, but we weren't comfortable going out in it. Again the pool was great and my kids and I spent "many" hours in it by ourselves.

What a great holiday we all had! We spent a week in this beautiful condo, and didn't want to leave. We moved to Panama City 10 months ago, it has been a busy 10 months and we were looking for a relaxing place to stay, and this was definitely it. The apartment and all the surrounding area (pool, grounds etc) were all very clean. The apartment is very well equipped, and there was nothing we needed that wasn't there. It is decorated very nicely, beds are very confortable. Our children are older (12,14 and 16) so all the important things were there for them, after the pool, and beach, the wi-fi, and google TV, was very popular, not to mention the vast DVD collection! The one problem we did have was very quickly fixed by Craig the property manager, and it was so nice having Craig so close by, he was always very attentive to our needs. We didn't do much, but I can recommend a trip to Boquete, and the horses (which you organise from the hotel next door) for a morning ride on the beach, all 5 of us had a great time! The restaurant at the hotel is very convenient, and the food was varied, tasty and good value. Also Nina could not have been more helpful, she answered any and all questions we had, was very concerned that we were having the best time possible during our stay. Thank you so much Nina for renting out your beautiful condo, we would love to return, and will definitely recommend it to our friends.

Here was the first ocean front condominium I could truly relax at!
The descriptions and photos were spot-on; the residence and grounds are spotless; the owners went above and beyond answering our questions; I certainly would recommend it to friends; and there was plenty to do nearby in addition to the pool-swimming, ocean-bathing and beach strolling: biking, dinning in David, hiking & birding outside of Boquete and Cerro Punto, and excellent horseback riding next door from the stables at the Las Olas Hotel. Fresh vegies and fruits can be purchased down the road from locals who are welcoming. The weather is hot and sunny. Nearby restaurants serve up the catch of the day for a song. Nights are quiet for refreshing slumber, but don't retire before stepping out with a headlamp to look for exotic wee beasties- they (reptiles and birds, especially) are there patiently waiting for you!

It's worth the trip! This 3 bedroom condo was amazingly spacious. Very clean with all the amendities and decorated nicely as well. The pool was extremely nice a good place to cool off. The beach was the biggest I've ever seen with very few tourists. It's fun to body surf and play in the waves, they were not too big. The condo owners that were there we're very friendly and gave good tips on fun adventures to pursue. We did lots of biking every morning and one day took a tour in the lagoon area to see the monkeys. Also hiked the rain forest.
The fruits and vegetables were so cheap and fresh off the stand. David is 30 minutes away for shopping and fun city activities. Your money goes along way in Panama it is very cheap. The condonis licated in a perfect setting. They get the morning land breeze and the afternoon ocean breeze, so the temperatures are not too hot but just right.
I will definitely go back to this condo for a winter vacation. I loved the location, it was in the first floor and on the end, so you have an awesome view and more privacy.

The condo feels like being at home. It is set up such that you can hang out comfortably, go for a swim in the pool, a walk on the beach, have a beer next door at a local outdoor bar, ride your bike along the farmland... Everyone is warm and friendly. It is very rural and off the beaten path so for those who prefer to skip the "touristy" feel, this is it. There are amazing adventures available and private drivers we hired that were able to personalize the experience and show us things many people don't get to see. I like cooking and the kitchen is very user friendly. I loved being able to eat fresh fruit and vegi's as well as drink the water without ever worry about getting sick. The water at the condo is filtered and the local vegi's and fruits are safe to eat. A huge plus for me. The natural wildlife and vegetation is beautiful. A great place to get away and have new experiences or simply hang out and relax.

We had a wonderful stay here and the only change I could suggest would be to have a blowdryer that blows warm air. It is an amazing spot to visit with miles of beach to walk and a beautiful sunrise and sunset in full view of every day.

We are a family of six with two sons 15 and 17. We booked the Unit # 704 at Las Brisas del Mar and it was just wonderful. Right on the beach with a nice restaurant next door. It was relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable. The apartment was spacious with 3 great beds and 2 large baths, so we had plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was fantastic with every appliance you need. Nothing better than a cozy sitting area and a large TV where we enjoyed our favorite mystery movie. It is just 25 minutes away from David town, a big city where you find all your needs. Nina, the manager will do her very best to make sure you are comfortable and at home. She also has plenty of brochures and all information for any excursion around the area: so much to do that we wish we could have stay longer than we did. Next time we definitely won't miss the kayak trip at the fresh water stream. This unit at Las Brisas del Mar overall was our best family retreat vacation. Our kids loved it and we will definitely stay there again.
This is an exceptionally nice condo on a beautiful remote beach.

This is a lovely condo on one of the most amazing beaches. The condo is new, clean, modern, comfortable, with a patio and a view through the palm trees to the beach. This condo facility is well maintained and includes tennis courts and a pool. There is the added attraction of all the interesting things to do in this part of Panama, from combing remote beaches to hiking in the rain forest. Your hostess, Nina Tartakoff, is friendly and attentive to the needs of her renters, as well as being knowledgeable about the area. For sure this is a choice location for a vacation!
We were cradled in the lap of luxury with fantastic beach access

The condo is accessed by a small winding road through farming villages with homes very close to the unimproved road. That is left behind when arriving at the condo which occupies beautiful and remote beachfront property. The nearby mangroves are accessible with kayaks and offer bird viewing, while venturing south along the beach from the condo quickly leaves civilization behind.
The condo itself is beautiful, the marble and granite structure is graced with high ceilings, very comfortable furniture and modern appliances. High speed internet available pretty reliably. Access to other tourist destination is by car, bus or plane. Snorkeling or Scuba is not available locally but can be accessed with half a day's travel. The tennis courts were free whenever we wanted to play, and local flavor is nearby with beachfront bars to the north of the condo packing in many locals and their families for weekend outings.
