This is the only rental on our property - Why stay in a hotel room when you can stay at a private property overlooking the beach and ocean? We are located in a tropical paradise where the mountains meet the Pacific Ocean. We offer one of the best close-up ocean & beach views in the southern region. Ballena Marine National Park is only a 15 minute drive down the Coastal Highway, with a gorgeous string of beaches along the way and two other National Parks close by.
Be sure not to forget your binoculars and camera! From your secluded top floor there is a 180´ unobstructed ocean view from the oversized covered terrace where you can see a large variety of birds and wildlife throughout the day. Watch the activity of the local fishing boats from the small anchorage at bay side and see an occasional humpback whale or two from your vacation retreat. Several were spotted from the veranda the week just after Christmas last year only two-hundred meters offshore. There is a primary jungle ridge behind the house that is corridor for white-face & Holler monkeys with best viewing results early in the morning and late afternoon
Olas Hermosas sits on the ocean-side of the coastal highway, built with the remarkable view as the focal point, and from every room you'll see the beautiful bay, stunning beach and ocean views. Even when you take a shower you will be able to enjoy the view.
Get away from the crowds and stay in a private, clean and secure environment. It is not uncommon that you will find that you are the only one on this secluded mile long picturesque beach which is only a 4 minute walk from your studio to swim, sunbath, stroll the beach or look for shells and sand dollars. Beach chairs to take to the beach and a cooler are provided.
Relax at the end of the day and enjoy gorgeous sunsets as you watch the sun dip into the ocean during most of the high season from your veranda. The rhythmic peaceful sounds of the ocean with dramatic scenes as the waves meeting the rocks in a beautiful display of nature at its best. The only interruption may be the owners coming up to share a margarita or Baileys™ at sunset. Olas Hermosas is completely furnished with full kitchen, AC, hot water, sunflower seed shower head, washer & dryer, cable TV with DVD player, speaker system that can be used with your iPod or other music input devises. A king-size bed converts to two twins plus one double futon.
The front drive has a private gated entrance with remote control that is adjacent to a beautifully landscaped front yard area. You do not need a four-wheel drive since you never have to leave pavement from San Jose to the gated entrance. You will only be a mile from great shops and restaurants in the village of Dominical. The commercial center of Uvita is just to the south about 12 minutes away.
If you like the great ocean-front locations of the botique hotels, Coconut Grove or Costa Paraiso then you will love our location situated between both of these popualr properties. With the second floor studio being the only vacation rental on our proeprty you will have it to yourself.

My cousin and I stayed for just over three weeks at Dave and Deb's place this past summer. The studio/accommodations are absolutely beautiful and you are provided with everything you need. The view from the balcony is stunning and the beach and the waterfall (which was my favorite place by the way!) are easily within walking distance. This was one of the best vacations I've ever been on. Dave and Deb are very hospitable and make you feel right at home. So much so that I feel like we walked away with lifelong friends. Dominical is a lovely little town, the locals are friendly and hospitable and there is great surfing. There are also some fun running trails all over the jungle or you can go on a breathtaking beach run. :) We were very happy and satisfied with our stay and would recommend this to any of our friends or family in a heartbeat.
What more do you need? Beautiful view and helpful hosts!

I can't say enough about David and Deb. They are so sweet, so hospitable, and really do everything to make your stay in Costa Rica (and preparing for your stay in CR) as easy as possible. The 2nd Floor studio is simple but all that you need to enjoy your stay in Dominical (bathroom, full kitchen). Unless you want to spend your entire time indoors, it's really the outside that is important, right? The view from the balcony is perfect - playa dominicalito, the birds, the sunsets. Yum. The place is very private, tucked back off the road so you don't have to worry about anyone bothering you.
Dave and Deb will help you schedule whatever activities you want to do - surfing, horseback riding to a beautiful waterfal, zip-lining, fishing, or recs for a good beach to beach bum. The beach is within walking distance and the town is just a few minutes drive.
We had a great time and will be back soon, perhaps for a longer stay!

We were warmly welcomed and felt comfortable from the first moment. When we arrived the owner gave us many informations about the region, which were very helpful. The appartment was very cleand and has a great view. It's very quiet even if it's close to the road. We really enjoyed our stay.

We were staying more for business than pleasure on this trip, checking on progress of our home construction project. The studio is coveniently located, close to both Dominical and Uvita and not too far from Quepos. A short walk takes you to Dominicalito Beach, a beautiful uncrowded beach with great rock formations. The studio has great view of the ocean and beach. The studio is very clean and the kitchen is well equiped. Dave is a great host. He can arrange all of your tours and recommend best places to eat.

This studio was absolutely perfect! Great location, two minute drive to Dominical (Bars, restaurants, Surfing), but far enough to feel romantically secluded. Two minute walk to a nice beach, which you can view from the studio balcony as you sip on an ice cold beer out of the fridge. The kitchen is great -everything you need. We coooked some Dorado we bought from a fish market 5 minutes down the road one night. Shower has great water pressure, and temperature. There is onsite laundry you can use, which was great after three days in Costa Rica Weather! Air conditioning keeps the place nice and cool at night, or on a nice night you can open all the windows and let the cool breeze flow through. Also, the place is gated and has a dedicated parking spot, which was great for us as we had rented a car. I honestly couldnt believe we had stumbled upon this place on the internet!

My wife and I were looking for a relaxing vacation in Costa Rica, and found exactly what we were looking for. The condo is as advertised, very clean and well equiped. The pictures don't convey the view that we found off the patio. Incredible! The patio is the perfect place to watch the sunset from. You are close to the beach, Dominicalito, but a ways from town which suited us. We felt very safe there.
The owner Dave is really nice and has a lot of great info on the area, which has much to offer. We went surfing, horseback riding, whale watching, swimming around waterfalls etc. and we're talking about what to do when we come back. I would recommend renting a car. Dominical is within walking distance, but we drove every time to get groceries and go out to dinner.
So if you want a relaxing week, in an incredible place, for a reasonable price...it can't be beat.

We loved our stay in Dominical at the studio apartment owned by Deb and Dave West. They are amazing and made our trip so much more fun!! The apartment is adorable with everything you might need. It looks out over the ocean and we had the most amazing sunset views from our balcony. We spent quite a bit of time with Deb and Dave, enjoying happy hours, dinners and just hanging out! We had so much fun together that I taught a yoga class for them! They have so much information and helped us plan a fantastic white water rafting trip. All their suggestions were wonderful and help make our trip the best trip we have ever taken! We laughed and had so much fun that Deb and Dave have become dear friends! We can't wait to go back!

My girlfriend and I had a great time staying at Olas Hermosas this past December. Dave was an exceptional host who really went out of his way to make sure we had a great time - he knows everyone in town and everything to do and helped us plan great activities/dinners - and the apartment itself was perfect for our needs - great access to the beach, town, and highway while still being secluded enough to not feel bothered by passersby and with great sunset views.
Dominical is a great place too, wedged between the mountains/jungle and the ocean, it really has the best of what Costa Rica has to offer. The town is still very much a sleepy surfer town though so for those looking for more action you should probably head further north. If you are looking for a place to do some surfing, a few hikes, a base for exploring the southern Pacific coast, and some hanging out and watching great sunsets, then Dominical is right for you and Olas Hermosas is the place to enjoy it from
A very nice and comfortable studio with an unbeatable view.

My wife and I totally enjoyed our stay at Olas Hermosas! Check in was very quick and easy. Dave and Deb provided great information along with detailed directions for all of the available activities in this area. The studio apartment was very clean and the grounds were kept very clean as well. At the time of our booking however, we were unaware that the location of the office was right below our studio apartment. All in all this had no ill effect on our stay. We will certainly reccommend Olas Hermosas to family and friends in the future!

The studio has a stunning view overlooking the ocean. You can almost touch it. It is a very clean studio and the owners are very hospital. They will give you tips where to go and won't bother to arrange it for you. And if you like it, they will have a drink with you on the balcony (which is very large) and after that will go and have dinner together. The is a large bed that sleeps perfect, a nice bathroom and kitchen. A lot of space.

This was our first time to Costa Rica and it couldn't have been a better experience for me and my boyfriend. The Studio is spacious, clean, comfortable and has everything you would need for you stay. Location is great, we traveled to Manuel antonio for a day trip and also went south to Sierpe and all around the Dominical area. I was out on the patio every morning and evening because the view of the ocean was amazing. Dave and Deb were more than hospitible, setting up our snorkeling, zip lining, surfing lessons, and mangrove tour for us. They really helped us out since we were a little dusty on our spanish. We had a great time here and hope to come back some day.

Beautiful, clean, affordable accommodations very close to funky, surf-town Dominical. If you want a resort-y experience, stay further north. If you want to self-cater but still hit some great local restaurants, this is the place. Owners Dave & Deb will play concierge for you and let you in on the hits and misses of the area so you don't waste a single minute. (unless you want to waste minutes, in which case lazing on the deck or wandering along the miles of beaches in front of the house are options too) If you are a runner, D&D; will show you great runs. Just go!

Staying at Olas Hermosas with Dave West as your host is a great way to get introduced to the Dominical area. The Studio suite is easy to find and has amazing ocean & sunset views.
The beach below quiet and great for morning and evening walks. We highly recommend staying at Olas Hermosas.

Everything was exactly as promised! This place matched the photos and description to a tee and we lacked for nothing! The views were breathtaking! The beach is just a very short walk away and the little surfer village of Dominical is just down the road. Dominical has a little bit of everything... lazy surfer bars, little markets, live music, little stands with jewelry and gifts and an absolutely beautiful beach. Make sure you ask Dave and Debbie about "Tuna Tuesday"! Speaking of Dave and Deb, they are some of the nicest and most hospitable people I have met. They went out of their way to make our vacation a truly memorable experience. If you like to cook, the studio has everything you need. The produce is so fresh and inexpensive. There is a fish market just down the road. We bought an entire Mahi-Mahi for $10!! There are also a wide variety of restaurants in Dominical for those not so culinary adventurous...Tortilla Flats, The Rum Bar and San Clemente to name a few. Dave will point you to his favorite beach just down the road and will let you rent out boogie boards. The huge waves make it a blast. The studio is also fully equipped with beach supplies just make sure you bring sunscreen. That sun is hot!! Make sure you check out the waterfall from the pictures. It is awesome! We rented a very small car which was perfect except for the main road in Dominical which is extremely bumpy. If you want to go up into the jungle at all you will need four wheel drive. For the most part we were fine with our little matchbox car. One thing to be aware of...everyone has to have Costa Rican car insurance which is around $50 a day. Expedia did not inform us of this when we reserved a car with them! This was truly my favorite and most relaxing vacation ever. The beautiful views matched with the Costa Rican's "pura vida" attitudes made it a trip to paradise. If you decide to stay here you will have the time of your life!

Olas Hermosas is a perfect little hide-away just outside of Dominical. It is just a short walk to a lovely palm shaded cove and during low-tide you can walk along the beach to Dominical where you will find a number of funky restaurants and cafes. Deb and Dave are the perfect hosts. They made us feel right at home and provided us with everything we needed. They went out of their way to help us rent a car and organize tours and even introduced us to several other vacationers and locals. The studio is perfectly suited for a couple and is very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well equiped and there is a covered deck with a BBQ and outdoor seating making it the perfect spot to chill out after a refeshing dunk in the pool or to watch the sun go down. Close to all of the main activities and beaches on the southern Costa Rican coast, Ola Hermosas was truely our home away from home in Dominical.

We rented from Dave and Deb the first time we went to Costa Rica. We could not have asked for better service or a better place to stay for an initial visit. The accommodations were very clean and the location was great - close to everything with fabulous sunsets every night that you watch right on your balcony. It is a studio apartment so it is perfect for 2 but could sleep a 3rd person. Deb and Dave are wonderful to rent from. They are so friendly and helpful and have lots of knowledge of activities in the surrounding area and beyond. We are privileged to now consider them our friends.

And recommend this property as I will always have my friends and guests stay here when they visit and my little casita is full. Dave and Deb are truly the most professional Guest Home owners in the Dominical region !!! If you are looking for a fabulous little private home with the best view ever, plus close proximity to the beach, there are few other choices and they do not meet the excellence of Olas Hermosas !!! The only downside is if you are fortunate to find a open space of vacancy I spent a month here in 2009 and booked nearly a year in advance... Good luck and you will not regret your choice and decision to visit this beautiful part of Costa.
