“A lovely welcome to a beautiful house” We were the lucky first guests at Bullace Barn. It's been decorated and kitted out to a high standard, beautiful furnishings, well equipped kitchen, comfortable and pretty bedrooms. There's a separate utility/boot room with washing machine, iron etc. We like to cook and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed - there were a couple of suggestions we made to the owners eg a bigger frying pan, cafetiere, kitchen scales. But that was it. We were given a lovely welcome both by the owners and by their cats, who were quite keen to show us round the property ;-) There was a lovely welcome hamper on arrival with cake, cheese, bread, eggs. There's a fab little local shop about 10 mins up the road which is well stocked and also sells homemade pies and pasties. We liked best: cooking and eating together in the country style kitchen. The lovely view from the large window in the hall. Our visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We liked least: the frustration of being in the upstairs lounge which is large and comfy but has no windows out on the lovely view.

“My ideal holiday cottage.” Perfect. A beautiful and very well appointed cottage. Underbank Hall Cottage was a the perfect base for my week long holiday. Clean, tidy, and everything I could have needed was on hand. A very welcome "welcome tray" was waiting on my arrival. The added bonus was that I could take the dog as well. I really look forward to another stay during 2014.

The Barn

This is a beautifully restored and immaculately presented former barn which provides plentiful accommodation for up to 8 people. The décor is minimalist but comfortable. The kitchen is large and well equipped and scrupulously clean, with plenty of cupboard space. The house is an ideal basis for visiting the countryside and towns in the area and there is plenty to do in the immediate area without having to drive too far, although we made it as far as York. Amazing house

Full notes and key pick up easy and hassle free. The actual house is amazing, we were a large group and there was more than enough entertaining space. All the bedrooms are decorated to a very high standard as is the rest of the house. The location is easy to find with a local shop at the end of the road in walking distance as is a very nice pub (with disco karaoke that we very much enjoyed on the Saturday night). Lovely hide away

My mother and I stayed here for a weekend while we had a lot of work to do (I had exams and she had reports to write). We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life and retreat into the country for a working break. Our stay was lovely, we had a very warm welcome on arrival and were shown where everything is. The complimentary tea, coffee and cake was delicious! We got plenty of work done as it is so peaceful, only the sheep around to keep you company! But the village is a short drive away if you want to explore or get an supplies. There are walking route plans provided in the bothy, depending on how long you want to be walking for and what kind of terrain you fancy. The bothy itself is furnished very tastefully and is well equipped with most things you need. The wood burner is a lovely touch for the cold winter days. We would love to return when we have no work and are able to relax and enjoy the picturesque countryside. I can't recommend this little gem enough. … see more
