Description from owner

Description

This 90-square-meter, 4-bedroom apartment is in one of the best locations in Dubrovnik, just steps away from the northern entrance to the Old Town. It is perfect for visitors who are looking for a well-appointed, affordable accommodation in an ultra-convenient location.
Although the appartment is situated a couple of minutes's walk from the bustling streets of the Old Town, guests will feel miles away from the noisy crowds as they relax the shade of their terrace and gaze at the majestic ramparts and fortresses below, with views of the sea and the cable car just opposite (note: the residents from the above flat only pass by).
It has character and a lovely open shared space where you can enjoy sunset drinks with amazing view of the city walls.
The apartment occupies the ground floor of an historic house that dates back to the 1700s and was one of the first houses to be built outside of the walls. The newly-renovated living room is furnished in a style that echoes the house's long history, yet has been updated with modern conveniences like air conditioning, good a/c, strong wi-fi internet and flat-panel TV.
Next to the living room there are two bedrooms, one with queen size bed and another with two single beds, and two full bathrooms (one with a Jaccuzzi bathtube, the other with a shower), and a separate full kitchen. At the back of the apartment there are two more bedrooms, one with queen sized bed plus one with a single bed, and a 3rd bathroom with a shower and toilet (please note that this bathroom, while functional, is bare-bones and should therefore be considered an extra convenience).
While the two bedrooms at the back are simple, tidy, and functional, the double room with twin beds, which looks out onto the terrace, has been recently redecorated in a classic style with rich mahogany furniture.
At the apartment officially sleeps 6, but it can be stretched to accommodate up to nine guests (two more in the living room and one in the rear single bedroom). It is perfect for a good sized group up to 7 or 9 people.
The terrace is partly covered—thereby appealing to shade-seekers and sun-lovers alike—and is equipped with a table and chairs and a traditional stone barbecue. A large shared outdoor space easily fit 15 ppl. The terrace is absolutely perfect for an early evening glass of wine in the sunshine.
Amenities include air conditioning (in the living room only, since the apartment's thick stone walls and shaded position keep it remarkably cool), free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, washing machine, baby cot, high chair, and car seat (those last 3 items are on request). The apartment also has a private parking space for 1 car—a rare and valuable amenity for such a central location!(note the parking spot is really small, as they are everywhere).
You will be delighted with the comfortable surroundings, the closeness to the old town. The entrance to Old Town (called the Buza gate) is less than 150m from the apartment. From there, a descent down a long staircase leads right to the main street Stradun. Guests who want to avoid stairs can walk to the Eastern entrance, the Ploce gate, which is, again, only couple of minutes walking distance from the apartment. The harbour is a 10 minute stroll. The cable car is only 30 steps away, but is completely silent.
All amenities you need are within minutes including, ATM, liquor store, the supermarket is about 300 m left out of the apartment, a bakery and a newsagent is literally 10 m.
You can be delighted with the morning trips to the nearby bakery for delicious pasties and coffee, and to another little fruit store where you can enjoy fresh apples, nuts and apricots.
We also offer airport transfers, and private tours in the area of Montenegro or Mostar!

“Comfortable, spacious home in an ideal location.”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2018

House Dubrava is an an attractive home with modern conveniences, yet also traditional character and furnishings that help to place it above other rental options. It is only a three-minute walk to one of the gates to the Old City, but in a quiet location where you have the feel of being a resident rather than a tourist. A bakery, bar/cafe are steps away and two grocery stores within easy walking distance. There is also a bus stop and taxi stand just outside the property. It is about a ten to fifteen minute walk to the Pilote Gate and the bus station for transport to the ferry docks and main bus terminal. Darko was extremely helpful, spending much time with us on arrival, explaining the workings of the house and offering suggestions on places to visit and how to get there as well as pointing out top choices in restaurants. He also respnded quickly by email and text message to any questions we had. This is an excellent accomodation choice for families or mid-sized groups, and on top of verything has a spacious porch with glimpses to the sea, perfect for lounging outside in good weather, which, unfortunately, in an unusually cold and wet March we didn't have!

“very comfortable appartment just outside the city walls of Dubrovnik”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2017

The apartment is well located just outside city walls of Dubrovnik and next to the bus stop (for airport transfers) and the cable car (for the views). The accommodation is well appointed with plenty of rooms, 3 bathrooms and a good kitchen. The terrace was beautiful for eating out in the evening. We forgot to say we wanted single beds, we were six friends not couples, but Darko the owner helped us sort it out. He was very helpful and recommended places to eat and when to use the chair lift to avoid the queues. His restaurant recommendations were excellent. He let us stay after checkout because our transfer was after checkout time so overall and excellent choice

“Amazing stay!”

Reviewed 20 Jul 2016

The villa was amazing and in a perfect location for the old town! Darko was very helpful with advice on what to see, and his airport transfer service was very useful. Our only criticism was that there were no locks on any of the bathrooms, but other than that, the villa was lovely and perfect for a large, or even a smaller party. Thank you Darko for everything!
