My family and I (19 of us) came down to the Outer Banks for the first time over July 4th to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. What a trip! The house was amazing-the only time we used our cars was to go to the grocery store and out to Corolla to see the wild horses. Otherwise, everything was within walking distance. The beach was a stone's throw away-you could hear the waves crashing on the beach as you were on the deck. The area was very quiet...no loud parties to disturb the peaceful sounds of the ocean. We used the tennis courts, indoor pool, pool table, ping pong table and workout room at the community member's club (diagonally from the house) daily. The house was well equipped; having the elevator in the house was great for my parents and for transporting our groceries up to the kitchen. I corresponded with one of the owners, Steve, prior to coming-he could not have been nicer. He reached out to some of his friends in the area to find me a photographer, caterer, as well as answer my many questions about the house and the town. Celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary is a huge milestone and a wonderful event...celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary in NC at the "Wine and Sea" with our entire family was beyond wonderful...it was priceless.

This home is very and welcoming. Great location in Duck. A 2 minute stroll to the beach and a 10 minute walk to Duck. Our family enjoyed the community pool and workout room which is a big plus!!! We walked daily to Duck for either a nice stroll or dinner!!
The house very well maintained and comfortably fits 10 people with bunks for more!!!

We loved the Wine and Sea house. It is beautiful, close to the beach, nicely appointed. We did however have problems that came up once we arrived that have to do with the management of the property and the condition of some of the things we were told we would have for our use.
The house was dirty - sand in the bedrooms, dirty bedspreads and pillow shams, and the floors blackened our bare feet right away. None of the GFI outlets in the bathrooms worked. The pocket door on the half bath was off its track and wouldn't close properly. The grills were grimy and there were no brushes to clean them with. One grill had little gas in it. The TV in the great room never worked the entire week. Both baby gates promised were broken. The kitchen cooktop shorted out the first time we turned it on to cook. We made the appropriate calls to Outer Banks Blue and reported the problems we were having early in the week. It took a couple of days for someone to come out. Then it took a couple more days for someone to really address the problems.
At the end of the week the baby gates were replaced, a used cooktop that had only three working burners was placed in the kitchen, and the bathroom outlets were fixed. Someone did come out from the cleaning service to brush the grills, but the gas was not filled. We were able to cook one night on the gas that was in the bottle. We never did see the cable box again, although promised they would bring a new one. I do not know why things were in such bad shape. One person told me that by this time in the summer, the management businesses are "worn out" and "cut corners." The home's owner even contacted us and apologized, but it just seems like the people he was counting on to maintain his home are not doing so. I will not choose a rental property looked over by Outer Banks Blue again.
Thaks for taking the time to write your concerns abot your stay. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the house.
We are somewhat confused about your aggressive comments about us as the management company on this review however. We received a call from your group on the Monday of your stay regarding a baby gate not working, the outlets in the bathroom not working, the fact that someone had "shorted out the stove" while you were cooking and the gas grill being dirty. We replaced the baby gate and cleaned the grill. The outlets were not working because someone had a high powered hair dryer and that blew the circuit for all of the bathroom outlets. The button that controls these outlets is actually right on the outlet and it was reset and someone in your group was shown where to reset it again if it happened another time during your stay. We also dispatched an appliance repair company to the house to fix the stove.
We then heard from you on that Friday night that the propane tank was empty on the grill. We replaced the propane tank the next day.
We never heard from you regarding any cleaning issues upon your arrival. We do regret that you didn't find the house in perfect condition regarding the cleaning but we can assure you this is our year round profession, and whomever told you that we are "worn down" in August is probably not in this business. Guest satisfaction is our lifeblood, and we regret that we did not have the opportunity to fully satisfy you on this vacation over issues that would have been so easily rectified.
We are certain the issues you encountered with the kitchen were disconcerting, but we assure you that there was no way we could anticipate the issues you encountered during your stay.
The key we think is how we respond when things do arise, and we were under the impression that we handled each issue as well as possible. Its disappointing to hear that we fell short in your eyes.
This is a beautiful home that has enjoyed great reviews and experiences from previous guests and we assure you that your disappointment was an isolated experience.
All the best from the beach!

The house was perfect for all of us. We had four generations and the elevator was great for the older ones. Location to beach and indoor pool couldn't have been better. Would come back here in a heartbeat!!!

Great having the clubhouse across the street. The college grads were in full force - so beware of that. They were not particularly noisy, but they had a tendency to swarm the beach and set up right on top of us. Walk into Duck was a pleasure - I do wish they had sidewalks!!
