The house is in good shape. Proximity to the beach is good. The pool is a real plus...excellent feature. The house in general is a little tight for a large family with different age groups. All bedrooms are on the same floor and relatively small. There's only one common area for social activities/tv watching. Needs a propane grill.

Our recent visit to the OBX was our first. The weather kind of brought the whole vacation down. But there's no controlling that especially in early summer. The service we received from Beach Realty was excellent. Any questions we had were answered immediately. Check-in/check-out was super fast! The location to the beach was very convenient. Just a short walk down the dead end street. Very little traffic on this street.(Advice to parents with young children; do not let them walk along side the road in the grassy area barefoot! There are tiny burrs from the surrounding plants laying in the grass. My son got 2 of them in his foot.)The home was as it appeared online. The house and pool were very clean. We were not happy with the deck floor boards. There were many exposed nail heads, some sticking out a half inch. If you didn't walk gingerly in barefeet you could rip your foot open on a rusty nail.We also had a 2 year old with us. We wouldn't let her on the deck barefoot, but the nailheads could easily trip her. The lower level screen door would not latch. And with the weather we received that week, the door was left flapping in the breeze. The horse shoe pit came in handy all week when it was too cold to swim! But we were jealous of the neighbors basketball hoop! The traffic in Duck is sometimes ridiculous! Drivers are sometimes careless and in such a hurry(they're on vacation! Where can they possibly be going?!) I often watched drivers not stopping for people at cross walks. Duck is a very convenient location, you don't have to travel far for anything. Gift shops, markets and restaurants are within a very short drive.

The house itself was nice and had ample of cookware, dishes cups and coffee makers. The only thing that did bother us was that there was no access from the pool (bottom floor) or hot tub (2nd floor) to the house, you had to go out of the pool and walk around to the front of the house which became bothersome if you had to use the bathroom. Overall the house is nice a bit dusty but had all the essentials and it was extremely close to the beach.

Duck Duck Goose is in a great location in that it is only a short walk to the beach and it is on a quiet street, nice for families with small children. Street is kept clean. The bathrooms in the house are small and it would be nice to have another full bath. Accessibility to the hottub should be addressed. Didn't like the fact that you had to go through one of the bedrooms to get to the hottub. House was very clean and we did have a wonderful time.

The location of the house was great. Close to the beach if you have to run back and forth with little ones! The pool was a plus! Good 2 family home - but not room for more. Bedrooms and baths a bit small, but the beach is where you spend most of your time. Layout of the outside decking also a bit awkward, but nice to have. Kudos to the cleaning crew - the house was very clean and in good condition. Kitty Hawk Rentals/Beach Realty very nice to deal with.

We stayed at Duck Duck Goose with our extended family, and loved every minute of our vacation! This was our first trip to OBX, and we could not be more pleased! The house was more than fully equipped to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen had everything we could think of to cook meals for 7 of us, plus we enjoyed using the grill, too. We were also pleased at how kid-friendly it was, and we had everything we needed for our 14 month old son to feel at home. We loved the great room layout and all the levels of decks. There is a very short walk to the beach and we really loved that we had our own pool and hot tub. Great location within Duck; we would definitely love to stay here again!
“A wonderful vacation with our kids and grandkids!”

We loved the home. The kitchen was well stock with everything we could possibly want. There were beach chairs and toys for the grandkids to take to the ocean which was a very short walk. The pool was very nice and clean. We would definitely go back to that house again.
