Guest Review: This house is not to be missed!! Perfect location for families and children. Immaculately clean and obviously well cared for. The three bedrooms were very spacious with comfortable matresses and pillows, as well as plenty of extra pillows and blankets in the closests. The kids (7 and 11) loved sharing the kids room and having their own TV in their bedroom with it's own DVD player. The bathrooms were large and sparkling clean. The outside toilet and shower were also very handy. The upstairs was spacious with comfortable couches, a great kitchen and a very nice deck overlooking the pond and trees. Our favorite part was walking the nature path down to the pond and sitting in the chairs while the kids rode the bikes on the trail. Beautiful trees, shade and a lovely breeze. We also loved the beach chairs, kids wagon, bikes and beach caddy at the house. The beach entrance is literally right around the corner. The kids loved riding their bikes!! The soundside pool was beautiful and we spent a great day there. All in all, we have stayed in all areas in the Outer Banks and we have stayed oceanfront, but this was our most favorite house we have ever rented. Thank you Pappia!!

Our stay at the Pappia [unit 310] was great. It was very well maintained and beautiful. My favorite thing about unit 310 was the kitchen area. It was supplied so well with dishes and cookware. We had everything we needed to cook with. I have never stayed in a beach house or time share that was supplied as well as this one. I made the statement to my friends that were me that if I were buying a house that I would buy it just for the kitchen area in this home. There was so much work space and it was so bright and beautifully decorated. The house was very clean. I do think that the living room sofas need replacing but other than that everything was ok. The location was great. The short walk to the beach was good as well. We also enjoyed the Sanderling pool as well. Very clean and plenty of lounge chairs and nice location being on the sound side. Our check-in and check-out was a pleasant experience as well. I would rent this unit again!!!

We stayed at Pappia for the first time this summer and loved everything about it. The house was very close to the beach and having the use of the community pool overlooking the bay was great! We found Pappia to be very clean, weather tight, dry and it has a fantastic movie/ music system! It was obviously put together with care and pride. The yellow and blue design touches made the house feel light and fresh and airy. It was the perfect size for our family with two teenagers each getting their own room. The bikes and the dune buggy were used daily and were wonderful to have. The setting in the "octopus" trees was dramatic and charming and the little pond/ nature preserve area added to the natural beauty! We would definitely go back to Pappia again. We have stayed in several different houses over the years, most were wonderful and Pappia did not disappoint!

So happy to find this gem, perfectly sized for our family of four, so close to the ocean. Well-appointed and nicely laid out, we always felt like there was plenty of space to spend time together or "escape" on our own. It's worth noting that the spiral staircase is probably not well-suited to groups with individuals who have trouble on stairs. My 6- and 4-year-olds were fine on them, though. I also wish we'd known about all the add'l "supplies" at the house (bikes, beach chairs, beach cart, wagon, etc.)... We would've been able to pack a bit more lightly! Beach access was a dream... Less than a 5-minute walk (more like 1 minute on the bike!) and the pool (a short drive down the road) was absolutely great and a nice change of pace from the beautiful beach. An outdoor shower in the garage made cleaning off from the beach so easy- my girls actually insisted on taking all their showers outside, they liked it so much. The house is nearly camouflaged by trees, which makes it feel really secluded- you can barely see the neighboring houses. Pappia made our first visit to OBX an absolute delight, and we're hoping to return someday soon!

We had a total of six stay in this home (family of four and grandparents). It was the perfect size for our group. The home was very nice. We especially liked the hardwood floors throughout the home. The bedrooms were roomy and the kid's room with its own TV, games and books was a hit. The living room was nice with the large flatscreen TV and suround sound system. The back yard with the pond, trail and gas grill were all pluses. It was like having a house in the trees...a special home. It was also nice having a beach caddy and bikes for our use. Great neighborhood, location and beach. The pool passes to the Sanderling Resort made up for no pool in the back yard.

A lovely house and very good value. Only negatives is there is no bathroom on the family room/kitchen level, and the grill is two levels down from the kitchen. The screened porch is very nice but is accessible only through the master bedroom or from outside.

This house was fantastic. Lots of little extras for the beach including beach chairs and a little wagon to pull it all! Tv and wireless internet made everyone happy! Even though we did not use the screened in porch, I am sure we will on another stay. This house is a "keeper"

The house was very nice. Although, I think that it could've been a little bit cleaner. The people at checkin couldn't give us very good directions to the pool so we had to drive around for a while until we found it. The amenities on the website need to be updated as well. There was a lot of stuff there that we wouldn't have brought if we knew they were already there. Other than those little things, the house was awesome and we loved it! We will definitely recommend to others and consider staying there again.

Very nice stay. The house was nicer than we expected. Great setting, very cute house, well kept, very clean. Fully stocked kitchen (except no non-stick skillet). Good selection of books, plus plenty of games and toys for kids. Gas grill, bikes and beach stuff were added bonuses.
Flat panel TV in living room and king sized bed in master would be nice additions.

Pappia was a great house. Pros: Very clean, well kept, well stocked kitchen, great comfy beds, very well stocked garage with beach goodies, and beach bikes. Cons: small for the price, no bathroom on 3rd floor and a little bit of a walk to the beach. It was a longer walk than advertised.
Otherwise I would have given it a 5 star. Overall, great house we would definitely stay at again in the future.
