Beautiful lake setting. 150 yards to community dock on sound. 250 yards to the beach. A very large Great Room w/built-in book shelves, 22 foot ceilings, wet bar, loft area, games and more. House fronts on a tidal fishing lake and is surrounded by marine forest! This is a very comfortable and private house for two families with a boardwalk to the beach at the end of the street. Children enjoy catching a variety of fish and crabs in the tidal pool. Membership for community pool and tennis courts are provided as part of rental. In addition to several golf courses in the vicinity, there is a the championship Rees Jones course, The Currituck Club, four miles North of the house.

"It was a wonderful but fast Mother's Day Weekend. Great weather, wedding and family fun. Beautiful Home!" The Kobble Family, The Stone Family and The Henry Family
"Dear Scott-Doyles, Thank you for sharing your beach house! We stayed in your house because of a realtor's error. We were all upset that we didn't get to stay in our "usual" vacation we got here! Then we realized our misfortune turned into a blessing. This is a beautiful home. And now we plan on staying here next year too! The ocean, the "lake", the sound, the pool, take your pick, ya know? We appreciate the fully stocked cabinets, spices, hand soap, aluminum foil, etc. We felt very comfortable here. (It's the little things :-) ) We almost finished a puzzle (5 of us) but we ran out of steam. We enjoyed crabbing, biking, the nature trail (we saw a deer, baby quail, turtle, frog) caught fish, shopped and got a lot of sun!! We look forward to next year." Carol, Dave, Austen, Carly, Abra, Jarin, Desolae, Hannah (PA, WV, OH)
"We picked the Scott-Doyle off the internet with fear and trembling. Our first time at OBX and we picked a winner! Love this house. We are here for our family vacation with three grown daughters and six grandchildren and one dog. The children enjoyed "camping" and being together. The natural beauty of this area along with the amenities of the Scott-Doyle combine to make this one of our best vacations. Thank you for the experience." Lonnie & Anna Baucom, Wadesboro, NC
"Been vacationing in OBX 24 years and try to stay in different property every year. This may be difficult to top! Many thanks for renting your property. The setting is great, enjoyed fishing, 2 bucks in the front yard, turtle, osprey nest across the road! Early morning walks with the baby were very enjoyable in wooded area. Beach was great and not crowded and easy to navigate. Great family time and very relaxing. Again many thanks for the comforts and special touches." Gilles family, Willow Street, PA

“Our stay at the Scott-Doyle home in Duck, NC was fantastic -- a”

Our family loved our week at the Scott-Doyle home. Here are a few of the reasons we were so blessed with decision to stay at Scott-Doyle:
1. The setting -- large lot, trees, decks, the river, the beach
2. Kitchen accessories -- cooking ware, silver ware, dishes, etc.:
3. House size -- enough space for 7 adults, 1 dog:
4. Linens were provided -- beds were made before we arrived:
5. Cleaning service -- did not have to spend hours cleaning before we left:
6. The house is simply beautiful, well cared for and beautifully appointed.

The property is very nice and includes several decks; it was listed as 6 bedrooms but its really 5 plus a sofa in a sitting room in a bedroom suite. I suggest this needs to be corrected by the rental agency. The property is located the equivalent of about two blocks from the beach, a pleasant walk mostly under the shade of trees.
Apparently local laws do not permit cooking on grills on the decks so no barbeque was available, something I was unaware of or I would have brought my own. We boght a cheap one and left it at the property (barbeque cooking is permitted on the paved area adjacent to the property).
