Shore Break welcomes you with ocean views from the bright great room and Carolina sunsets from the back screened porch. The shell path from the front of the house leads to a nature trail and a short walk to the beach.
The owners have provided for your convenience beach chairs and boogie boards for that ocean experience. Abundant outdoor activities include paddling among the dolphins in the cottage's two-person kayak and biking along Sanderling's nature trails, into the Town of Duck, or to the community pool overlooking the Currituck Sound. For those who like to fish, the ocean, sound, and nearby freshwater pond are a short walk away. Or you could bike on the adult beach cruiser bicycles. Families will especially appreciate the quiet cul-de-sac location of the house. You will find a baby gate provided for the little ones safety.
The exterior of the home has been newly painted and two new outdoor showers have been added. Also bathrooms have been recently remodeled. Newly installed landscape lighting will welcome you from a night out in town. For your enjoyment there is also a community pool and outdoor tennis courts (fee to use courts) located just a short drive away.

We really enjoyed this home! The recent updates were wonderful, the bikes, kayak and close proximity to the beach all made for an enjoyable time. We saw dolphins from the dining room picture window and the sound of the waves from our decks was heavenly. I enjoyed walking with my young children to the nearby pond and exploring the cute nature trails in this neighborhood. It felt more like an old fashioned beach experience, with the beautiful natural surroundings around this home. All our family had a great time and we would definitely consider this home again.

Great house near the beach. Nice bikes, beach chairs, even a boogy board and ocan kayack. We could walk to the half block on the path or when we carried a lot of stuff, either drive a block and unload or use the bikes to carry all the paraphenalia.
There were eight of us, including two little ones and the house was spacious enough for all of us. We spent a lot of time on the beach, used the Sanderling resort outdoor pool one day and barbecued a couple of times.
The rental company was excellent. Check-in is very easy and almost across the street. we had a problem with the air conditioning and they sent someone out to fix it right away.
One other plus to this house was the Sunday check-in. The road to Duck is pretty crowded on Sunday but it was still much better than Saturday. I suggest that if you can do a Sunday to Sunday rental take it and spend Saturday on the beach so you don't have to fight the traffic on Duck Rd.
All in all a great three generation family vacation.

we were with adult children and a one year old grandchild and i must say that after visiting other towns in the area duck was the best place for us.it was so nice not to have to cross a road to get to the beach.also the house we rented had a baby gate which was very important and a pack and play.
as i said we took day trips to other towns and they seemed tacky and run down.as i mentioned in another review i realize the rental company rents in many areas but that they should steer families with young children to duck.

This is the third that we have stayed in Shorebreak. We were impressed with the hall bathroom that has been redone. It looks very nice. The views are great and the proximity to the beach is wonderful.
On the down side, the furniture is very stained and pretty worn worn; the mattresses in the queen bedroom (not master) and twin room have seen better days. The people who stayed in those rooms complained about sore backs each morning.
Because we had stayed there before, we knew to bring sharp knives, dish towels, etc. (I understand why the owners would not want to purchase those items - I'm just glad we knew to bring them). The bikes were in bad repair (chains kept coming off), but Kitty Hawk sent someone to repair them and we enjoyed them the rest of the week.
Overall, we had a wonderful vacation in a lovely unstuffy home.

the beach was great, duck was wonderfull, wright brothers history was very informative-various eating establishments all excellent. The house was ok, needed to update, upper stair rails-and patio furniture. Would not stay at this house again.
