We've rented from Beach Realty/Kitty Hawk Rentals before, and always get good service. This house was a real bonus for us because it was really pet friendly, and so close to shopping and entertainment in Duck (although it was a little too close to Duck Donuts, if you know what I mean!) The large fenced-in yard was perfect for our dogs so that they could run and play safely, while we hung out in the hot tub. It would also be great for small children play in during the evening after beach time. Every bedroom had a TV, so we got spoiled this trip because in the morning there was no fighting over what shows to watch in the main room, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Our only minor complaint was that it was a fairly long walk to the beach, approximately 8 minutes. According to my husband, though, we drove 10 hours to get to the beach, what's another 8 minutes? The kids actually didn't mind too much because again, we were super close to the main road and all the shops in Scarborough Faire and Lane. We would definitely stay in this house again if it were available on our next vacation to Duck.

Great home w/ excellent amenities and very well stocked. Somewhat far from the beach but was ok due to the quality of the home. Not great for a lot of people but great for 2-3 families and children. We loved it and are planning on staying again next year. The owners have gone out of their way to provide info to make your vacation easier too.

great location with just a short walk to the main drag in Duck with all the action and a short walk the opposite way to the beach!! A lot of sleeping areas and great decks on the house. The staff at Kitty Hawk rentals were great also. I'm sure we will be doing it again!!

We enjoyed our week at "Coffee to Cocktails". The home is very clean and has everything for a party of 11 people or less. Ideally, it would be perfect for a large family or two small family groups. The hot tub was also a nice feature. It was clean and well maintained. My husband felt that the price was a bit high compared to other rentals we have had in past years - we have been coming yearly for 18 years now - but all in all it was a nice vacation. The only negative about the house besides the price might be the distance from the beach. Although it is super close to dining & shopping, the walk to the ocean is about 3.5 to 4 football fields away. If guests have a lot of beach items I recommend using your car to tow everything to and from. There is a "beach cart" provided but it is more of an umbrella stroller with mesh that could only carry a chair, small cooler and towel. Many of the neighbors as far off the beach as we were had golf carts which would have been super. I would recommend bringing a bike for easier access to and from the beach. There is a bike rack right next to the beach as well. I like to go back and forth to the beach periodically because I'm not into being in the sun all day. Once you hit the beach with all of your gear you should plan on staying for the day unless you want to hoof it all the way back. Better yet, if you rent the home, just bring your bike and you will have an enjoyable visit despite the walking distance to the beach.

A Wonderful Week at the aptly names Coffee to Cocktails; family flying in from Seattle, pa, ma, and even NC! The weather was awesome; hot and humid, but on the beach each day it was fine, good breeze and water the temperature to die for. We loved it all.
The house was very suitable for agest 4 to 88. Stairs, for those who have difficulty; but if not, climb to the crow's nest for a great view of sound and ocean. Also fine for the amature star gazers among us. We experienced no problems at all, with exception of no hot water in the lower bathroom shower. Go figure, but we mention it as it does need to be fixed. There needs to be perhaps more cooking utensils, as we actually cooked each night, and could have used some bigger pots. I suppose most go out, but we find it better to share cooking and cleaning chores for a big group. Overall, I'd give the house an "A". It's a short walk to everything, if you can break away from the beach.

We have stayed at this house four times! We love that each floor has a sleeping space and a hanging out space. Everyone can have peace and quiet. The kids love the "Kid Cave" room with movies and blocks for play. The hot tub is nice after a day at the beach. We love the quick walk to the shops and park. This is a great house for a family!

This vacation home was great for location to the beach, shopping and restaurants. The decor in the home was well suited for a beach home. The beds were comfortable. It was nice having a bathroom on each floor and the kids had their own bathroom. The kitchen should have been better supplied with newer pots and pans (old burnt on grease on the bottoms) and mixing bowls. Cleaning company should be more attentive to the way the last renter left the kitchen supplies.

Had a great time, loved the house. No problems except when is was windy the screen door on the porch kept slamming in the night. Phone service went out the first evening, they never fixed it. Everything was just wonderful.
