Description
Cosy holiday cottage in Sherburn Village three miles form Durham City, about 10 minutes in the car or 15 on the bus. An ideal base for exploring Durham City and the North East of England. Ideal for a holiday or as an alternative to a hotel while working away on business.
The cottage is well equipped with everything you could need during your stay.
Situated in a quite courtyard at the rear of Weardale House in the middle of the village, with use of a large private garden. The garden has a summer house for your use and outdoor patio area with furniture.
A supermarket, post office, newsagents and two pubs are within five minutes walk and the village has a good bus service.
Dove Cottage is perfect for walkers and cyclist providing secure storage for cycles and space to dry outdoor clothing.

“Beautiful cottage”
Had an amazing stay. Carol and Brian were great hosts and were so friendly and welcoming. The garden is beautiful with a lovely summerhouse and we had full use if it. The weather was really good so we took advantage. The place was immaculate with top quality bedding and towels and a very well equipped kitchen. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

“Lovely cottage and gardens, nice hosts and pet friendly.”
Comfortable well equipped cottage in Sherburn Village near Durham. Good location for exploring the attractions of county. The hosts were very amenable, available without being intrusive, and helpful. The courtyard and gardens were colourful and restful with comfortable seating and a useful summerhouse. The booking process was seamless, the cottage was easy to find, and the price was reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night break. We would certainly return and have no hesitation in recommending Dove Cottage to anyone wishing to vacation in the region.
