Description

The property has one bed with a full size pillow top mattress for your comfort as well as a dresser and a chest so you can unpack your clothes and stay awhile. There is a a small walk in closet off the bedroom as well as a small storage area in the hallway to put your luggage away. A queen sized, a full sized and a twin sized air mattress are provided for extra travelers. There is a full sized bathroom with tub and shower so you can stand up and turn around. The living room has a cloth sofa with a matching love seat and recliner. The kitchen area has an apartment sized stove and refrigerator, a bar area to seat 4 and a small dining table off the living area which seats up to 4.

Among the amenities included are extra bedclothes for the full sized bed as well as bedclothes and pillows for the air mattresses. A hair dryer, a clothes iron and a tabletop ironing board are provided. Paper towels, facial tissues and toilet paper are provided. Bath towels, wash rags and hand towels are provided. There are 2 umbrellas provided. The kitchen appliances are a coffee pot, a microwave, a crock pot, a toaster, a food chopper, a waffle maker, a table top grill and a mixer. The kitchen is stocked with glasses, coffee cups, plates, saucers, bowls, paper plates, salt and pepper shakers, mixing bowls, cooking utensils, eating utensils, knives, pots and pans, iron skillets, non stick skillets, a cookie sheet, a hand juicer, measuring spoons, measuring cups and a strainer as well as dish towels, dish rags and kitchen hand towels as well as dish soap and scrubbers. A dish drainer is provided. For clean up, there is a mop, a broom, a vacuum cleaner and a stack of old rags. Bathroom cleaners are provided. There is also a air freshener/ionizer provided for people with allergies. There is a washer/dryer combo available in the cabin.

For your entertainment, there is a TV with VHS and DVD players, VHS tapes and DVDs in the living room. There is a stereo system provided along with a collection of CD's. There are jigsaw puzzles, card games and board games provided also. If your thing is to relax and read, there are some books provided. Outside, there is a fire pit and a small charcoal grill.

The cabin is set up for one to two people but can accommodate up to 10 people if some don't mind sleeping on the air mattresses and furniture. However, there is an extra charge for extra people over two.

The property is located off a black topped road for easy access and on a two acre lot, one wooded and one cleared, but is adjacent to many acres of woods and adjacent to the Daniel Boone National Forest so wildlife sightings in the yard are frequent. There are cattle in the pastures across the road and up the road. There is adequate parking for boat trailers and four wheeler trailers. It is a very peaceful, rural area to stay but is only about 12 miles from town. There are many activities within a short driving distance from the property like Woods Lake, Wildcat Mountain, Cumberland Lake, Bald Rock recreational area, Tom Walker's cabin, the crafts and shops at Berea, Rockcastle River canoe trips, four wheeling and horse trails, historical sites like Colonel Sanders' first restaurant in Corbin and many more. It is not the Ritz but it is clean, comfortable and VERY relaxing and you will be glad you stayed.

House rules

Smoking allowed outside the cabin. You must pick up your cigarette butts and trash from the yard. Your trash and garbage must be bagged properly for disposal. If I have to pick up your butts and bag your garbage, there will be an extra cleaning fee taken from your deposit. Please use the cleaning rags for clean up and not the kitchen or bathroom linens. A replacement fee for the linens destroyed will be taken out of your deposit.

We enjoyed our stay at The Little Cabin in the Woods. The place was very clean and cozy. The price was very reasonable and close to Wildcat ATV park.

Cabin was as described " peaceful retreat" You can sit outside and only hear wildlife that was great. Very friendly people in town and very helpful to get around. Enjoyed our stay.
