Greenend House is an early Georgian farmhouse with a garden and parking located just 15 minutes from the main attractions of Edinburgh.

The older part of the house retains most of the original details, including magnificent fireplace surrounds and window shutters and is decorated with antiques and family pictures. The new annex features a large, light-drenched kitchen and family room with bespoke furniture (by my husband, an award-winning furniture designer) and French doors to the garden. Greenend House is on a residential street about 15-20 minutes by bus from the city centre and across the street from a woods with a stream where you can walk and relax. The neighborhoods nearby are also pleasant and safe for strolling or running.
Minutes away are the Braid Hills, largely open space with a golf course and fabulous views of the city. There are also a riding stables and school which arranges pony trekking. On the other side of the Braids is Morningside, a wonderful, quirky neighborhood of Edinburgh teeming with unique shops selling everything from vintage goods to gorgeous handcrafted decorative items to furniture and hardware, excellent cafes, delis, a variety of ethnic, casual, gastropub, Scottish and European restaurants, bakeries and food shops.

We are also close to Prestonfield House, where you can take a sumptuous afternoon tea or enjoy a delicious traditional Scottish Sunday lunch in an historic and beautiful atmosphere. The 1687 mansion is hidden away in twenty acres of gardens and parkland just 10 minutes from Greenend House.
