This stylish modern apartment is situated in Edinburgh's historic Old Town. It is within very easy walking distance of all the major tourist attractions including the Palace of Holyrood House ( the Queen's residence when staying in Edinburgh), the new award winning Scottish Parliament and the Royal Mile, containing a thousand years of turbulent Scottish history.
The Royal Mile is the historic backbone of Edinburgh's Old Town, linking together it's two Royal strongholds; Edinburgh Castle at one end and the Palace of Holyrood at the other. From the apartment, the Royal Mile is less than 2 minutes walk away and Waverley Station, the city's main railway station is only 5 minutes walk in the other direction. The fashionable East End is also a short walk from the apartment and is host to a large number of designer shops including Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Armani and Harvey Nichols. The area is also host to a large number of bars and clubs and some of Edinburgh's finest restaurants.
The apartment is also perfectly positioned for access to the city's finest parks, particularly the Queen's Park which is approximately 3 minutes walk away and is an outstanding piece of wild highland landscape in the centre of the city. The Queen's Park has Arthur's Seat, (an active volcano about 250 million years ago) at it's centre. This hill rises above the city to a height of 251 metres (823 feet) and the panoramic views from the top are the finest you will find. The walks around the Hill and it's 3 lochs are also outstanding.
Whether you are looking for history, nature, culture, fine dining or shopping or a mix of them all, this apartment is in the perfect location for you.
The apartment is situated on Calton Road,on the 2nd floor of Buchanan Court. It benefits from it's own secure allocated parking space. Access to the apartment is via an audio entry phone system. The apartment faces east and benefits from delightful views over historic roof tops as well as looking out onto a very old private cobbled courtyard. Opposite are Victorian buildings, tastefully converted into modern apartments. This is a very historic area which was named a World Heritage site in 1995.
The apartment offers very comfortable accommodation which consists of a large living area with separate dining space. This room has windows which overlook the courtyard. One of these is a large bay window which has a side view up to the Burns Monument and historic Calton Hill. The room is sufficiently large to accommodate guests for both dining and relaxing. It's furnishings include a large corner sofa and a dining table. The room also has a flat screen television with digital channels and a radio/CD player. To the rear of the lounge is a fully fitted kitchen with a range of appliances and a glazed door leading out to a Parisian balcony. Although not large enough to sit out on, this balcony is delightful and adds character to the kitchen area. The apartment has 2 stylish double bedrooms which both face out onto the courtyard. The master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and a zip/link bed which means that this room has the flexibility of being used as a double room with a super king size bed or as a twin room with 2 single beds. The 2nd double bedroom which is also very light and airy, has a comfortable double bed .Both bedrooms have hairdryers and good quality bed linen. The family bathroom has a 3 piece white suite with a powerful shower fitted over the bath. It has been fully tiled in a contemporary style.
There is an ample supply of good quality towels and guest toiletries are also supplied for your arrival.
The apartment benefits from gas central heating and double glazing as well as a living flame gas fire in the lounge, all of which combine to provide year round comfort.

Our group of five couples rented both the two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. Each were decorated beautifully and located ideally for visiting the Royal Mile, Edinburgh castle, etc. We would definitely stay in these apartments again should we visit Edinburgh in the future. The owner, Liz, answered our many questions, and responded to all inquiries promptly. She was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her apartments. Read more
Nancy, your kind comments mean the world to me - thank you very much!!

Stayed in this apartment for 4 nights during the Edinburgh festival in august. Liz the owner was very friendly and accommodating. The apartment is nicely furnished and well equipped - tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are all provided! It is in a quiet location, but is very close to the Royal Mile, which was excellent for getting around.

Can't fault anything about this apartment. Close to arthur's seat for walk and views. Comfortable beds, washing m/c and dishwasher, and Wi-fi all of which I consider to be a welcome luxury. Great to be able to have a secure parking space too. We walked from the apartment all over the city, to museums, galleries, shops and restaurants. Read more

Clean, bright, nicely furnished and comfort are some of the words that come to mind when describing the Buchanan Court apartment in Edinburgh where we stayed. The apartment itself provided two good sized bedrooms, a well organized kitchen area including laundry facilities and dishwasher, as well as a brightly furnished living room/dining room. The location was perfect, just off the Royal Mile and within a short walk of Holyrood Palace and the train station. The owner, Miss arnott, was very gracious in providing information about the area, initial supplies and assistance. We really loved our stay. Read more

The location and facilities where first class. I will definately stay here again. There were a four in our party and but the accomodation would easily sleep 6. The only desire would have been for a slightly later check out as we where not due to travel until later in the day.
That said i would highly recommend the area and the accomodation to anyone.
Thank you Donal for your comments, they are very much appreciated!
Regarding check out times, if I have no new guests checking in on the same day, I am always happy to negotiate a later check out time but (as in your case), if there are arriving guests, the apartment needs to be cleaned etc .
The apt's parking space was however at your disposal all that day which I am always happy to offer my guests whenever possible

Had a lovely weekend break. Couldn't believe how close we where to the Royal Mile, just a few mins away. It was great. We walked around in a big circle, very easy to find your way around.
Kitchen was great, very homely.
Even had a fire.

We thoroughly enjoyed out time at this apartment and particularly liked the location. We came down for an open day at Edinburgh University and stayed for a few days to get to know the city a little better. It was a brilliant visit and having discovered what a great place Edinburgh is, it was a joy to come back to this apartment in a quiet location to relax and put our feet up in comfort. Very spacious and warm and a delivery of food (pre-organised) all added to making our stay hassle free. Would love to come back some time.

Lovely, spacious apartment and was excellent value for the money. It was really nice to be withing walking distance to so many things. Being that close to the Royal Mile was the best. It was also great to be able to walk to the train station when it was time to leave. It really felt like a home away from home.

Overall the apartment is very comfortable, well located and well appointed. Taxi rank and bus stop just around the corner. Our only real point of constructive feedback is that given everything else is really well done they should not skimp on the quality of the toilet paper which was pretty bad. Would definately recommend and stay there again. Read more
Apologies about the toilet paper...........not actually the kind we use. The previous guest had left several rolls in the bathroom and I (wrongly it seems) didn't replace it with my own!

Well appointed and maintained apartment. Large living area that suited three adults who needed own space after being together all day! Fabulous location - no need for use of car.Safe secure(locked each night) parking eased our concerns. Manager available (by phone) and willing to give prompt assistance when needed was very much appreciated. Will definitely recommend to others. Thankyou for offering such a high standard of accommodation. It helped to make our holiday in Edinburgh absolutely fabulous. We will be back!

We had a lovely time. The apartment was bright, spacious and comfortable, and very well appointed and maintained. The location is fantastic. On this occasion I had to come by car, because I had musical instruments to bring, so the parking space was really useful. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.
(Our only slight problem was with the person living upstairs, who seems to spend the day walking around bare boards in clogs! The noise could be irritating when trying to rest. But this is not your fault of course.) Read more
I'm sorry about my neighbour upstairs. I wonder if they were having new carpets laid as they don't have bare floorboards & he is an old man who doesn't wear clogs!
