Additional Location Information

City-centre studio apartment, quietly located at the rear of the Webster's Land apartment building (located on West Port) with a great view to Edinburgh Castle.
2 minutes walk to busy Grassmarket area with shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, 5-10 minutes walk to Princes Street, museums, cinemas, theatres, the Royal Mile, the Old Town, including Edinburgh Castle. 15 minutes walk would take you to either Waverley Rail Station or Haymarket Rail Station, or to the tram and bus stops on Shandwick Place at the "West End" of Princes Street.

Metered parking spaces around the corner in Lady Lawson Street, or 24-hour car park at Castle Terrace.

From the studio flat Arthur's Seat (Edinburgh's highest hill) can be hiked up in less than an hour - there are fabulous views from the top. More good views and exercise come from the easier walk up Radical Road, which is a path running just below the Salisbury Crags (the hill in front of Arthur's Seat).

A gentler walk is to the top of the smaller Calton Hill, close to Princes Street's east end, and this has great views over the city-centre and the River Forth.

There are lots of interesting local shops and cafe/bars close by the apartment; there's a small Sainsbury's supermarket in the next block; and 5-10 minutes walk take you to the Lyceum and Traverse theatres, the Filmhouse, Cameo and Odeon cinemas, and a huge choice of restaurants, cafes, bars.
Scotland's People is the "family history" centre located in Register House at the east end of Princes Street - while the Scottish Genealogy Centre is on Victoria Terrace, not far from the apartment.
