"Like a Corona Comercial..."....."a True Barefoot Vacation"

Dear Travellers in the Yucatan,

If you dont feel like spending your well deserved vacation in Highrise Hotels, timeshares or condos in Cancun or Playa del Carmen , and you are rather looking for relaxation and recreation in the real Mexico, the unspoilt Caribbean Feeling of El Cuyo may something you should consider.

Puerto del Cuyo is a small, unspoiled Beachtown filled with Cocunut palm trees near Holbox, and is today the only coastal town in the Yucatan which is dotted with palm trees. At all other beaches in the Yucatan, the palm trees were exterminated by a plague some years ago, ...Read more

Additional Location Information

Dear Travellers in the Yucatan,

If you dont feel like spending your well deserved vacation in Highrise Hotels, timeshares or condos in Cancun or Playa del Carmen , and you are rather looking for relaxation and recreation in the real Mexico, the unspoilt Caribbean Feeling of El Cuyo may something you should consider.
Puerto del Cuyo is a small, unspoiled Beachtown filled with Cocunut palm trees near Holbox, and is today the only coastal town in the Yucatan which is dotted with palm trees. At all other beaches in the Yucatan, the palm trees were exterminated by a plague some years ago, and were sadly not reforested . Not so in Puerto del Cuyo, here you can still find the Caribbean Feeling mixed with mexican flair that used to be found in every Yucatan Beach town.

Puerto del Cuyo is a typical laid back Fisherman's Village away from the crowds. If you are thinking about an eco-tourism adventure or weeks of relaxation and privacy near a ocean with turquoise greenish waters and white sand sprinkled with a beautiful variety of shells, which invite to explore and make long walks on the beach, Villa del Cuyo is an option you cannot miss. We invite you to walk the beach in front of the Villa in the morning, enjoying a brilliant dawn and during the evening you will be astonished to be able to enjoy a spectacular sunset on the same beach. This is one of the many advantages to stay at this Villa, as it faces the northern waters, spectacular dawns and sunsets can be watched. And there is more… if you get tired to watch the ocean, we invite you to take a look behind the villa to the south towards Ria Lagartos, where you will find countless pink flamingos, unique in this region, nesting very near in the calm waters of the Lagoon.
The air conditioned Penthouse ( 130m2/ 1400ft2) with its stunning Beach and Oceanviews accommodates 2 guests in one comfortable Kingsize Bed in the Masterbedroom , 2 more guests on the Sofabed in the Livingroom and in the Casita Maya on the 3rd Floor 2 more guests.
This rental i recommend for Honeymooners,Couples or Families that are looking for a relaxing, quiet and peaceful Vacation or Getaway in a superb Beachfront Location.
Hacienda Villa del Cuyo Penthouse has a fully equipped kitchen with breakfastbar and a bathroom with walk -in shower and a bathtub.
Its air conditioned Masterbedroom with King Size Bed also has a Colonial Balcony.
The Beachfront Terrace has a Mayan Palapa for shade , 2 Lounge Chairs and a Table from where you get to observe the Sunrises and the Sunsets over the beach.
The Penthouse of Hacienda Villa del Cuyo is completely private and independent from the Groundfloor, with separate Entrances and Terraces to assure my guests privacy and peacefulness.
Private Chef, Tour Guide, Nanny and similar services can be arranged on request before of after arrival.

The enchanting waters and lush landscapes of Yucatan create a land of adventure, romance, and natural coexistence. Towering rainforests are home to thousands of species of wildlife and hide ancient Mayan ruins within their depths. The intricate under water river system (Cenotes), just a few miles inland, is unique and provides some of the best environments for underwater exploration.

Taking full advantage of the adventure potential of this idyllic destination, and the comfort of unique accommodations set in the middle of those natural surroundings. Our accommodations have a great diversity in mind, providing a relaxing and quiet environment to return to after a day of adventure. Our spacious houses features 1up to four bedrooms. The mayority provide huge balconies overlooking the pool and beach and spacious verandas, just steps away from the beach.Experience dining at any of the properties, during the sunset overlooking the beautiful, Caribbean Sea is an unforgettable experience.

El Cuyo is a typical coastal village. The two local restaurants serve fresh and delicious seafood (lobster, octopus, grouper, snapper, barracuda, shrimp, etc.), prepared with a Mexican-Yucatecan flair. Very reasonable prices.we recommend the Iguana Factory, Owned by Juan, which is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. At the Iguana Factory, you can always arrange Tours thruout the Yucatan, Changing Money, Rent a Vw Beatle, Rent Kayaks, Skites, Paddle Boat. They can also provide guyided Tours if you prefer.

We departed for an adventure through the Americas in May 2012, driving a Toyota Landcruiser HZJ75 and being on the road with our two canine overlanders makes us really happy. We plan to stay on the road until some time in 2015. Starting the adventure in Halifax, exploring wonderful Newfoundland, heading west through Canada, enjoying the summer up in Yukon, the Indian Summer in British Columbia, Centralamerica with all its edgyness and soon Southamerica."
