Old Town Eureka's Only Modern Loft! Crafted with Salvaged Redwood - Inspiring
The Coat Shop is housed in a historic 1920s storefront near the waterfront in Old Town Eureka, California. The Coat Shop a 1200 square foot loft crafted from salvaged redwood and industrial elements, equally inspired by modern design and the history of the North Coast.
The Coatshop is currently a 30 plus night rental and 2 night plus stays if booking within 30 days of arrival date. Please call for more details.
The main level of the Coat Shop features an open floor plan. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooks, including a vintage Wedgwood gas range, commercial sink and stainless countertops. The bathroom has a custom shower with two rain shower heads. The double-slipper claw foot tub is cozily placed in the main living area, so you can soak while listening to the stereo or watching a movie. It's big enough for two :)
The Coat Shop comfortably sleeps two in the California King bed. A third can sleep on the couch, and if you would like to bring more to sleep on the floor, let us know. We'll do our best to accommodate you.
For the adventurous, our roof deck and bar can be accessed by ladder. We love watching the sunset and 4th of July fireworks from the roof. We hope you do, too.
Old Town Eureka is known as a fine arts mecca. You'll find galleries, museums, artist studios, live music, and theaters within a few blocks. There is also great shopping and dining. Eureka is a city, so with all of the great choices the city offers, you also have the traffic, noise (there are music venues in the area), and interesting people that come with it. Also, access to the loft is through the back in a large open alleyway. Please make sure you are comfortable with this environment before booking or feel free to ask us more about it.
Eureka is our home, and we love introducing guests to the waterfront and to the beauty of the North Coast. All Coat Shop guests receive a welcome basket that includes a bottle of wine, local visitors guides and maps and $20 off coupon for a redwood canopy tour or rappelling/ rock climbing with North Coast Adventure Centers.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this cool loft for about a week in October. It was very relaxing and comfortable, the bed especially! Open concept (obviously), well stocked kitchen, cool gas stove for heat, the TV is connected to net flicks and used an apple TV, accessible washer/dryer, walkable to downtown Eureka bars/restaurants/shops. The only odd thing was the bathroom, it was a little cold and a towel rack was desperately needed. There was also a cool tub to use and lots of books!
We want to go back to Eureka sometime this year and will probably look in to renting this loft!
