Palm trees border the grounds to create a truly tropical haven created for a place to rest and relax after long days of touring the beautiful islanf of Oahu with it's many activities to do and views to experince. The scented plumeria on a sun-kissed lawn. You will be caressed by the soothing breezes of local trade winds as the smell of the ocean greets you, welcoming you to a place that your heart has always known.
Awaiting you inside Hale Pua Malia is an intimate, tastefully decorated environment, designed to please even the most discriminating traveler. The original Koa wood floors take you back to the plantations days of Ewa Beaches beginnings. The liiving room contains a large flat screened television with DVD player, AM/FM Stereo CD player, and Wi-Fi high speed internet access. Hale Pua Malia has a small, but fully furnished kitchen. Both bedrooms have queen sized beds. The out door area is enclosed with a lava rock wall creating a tropical fortress. An outdoor dining table that seats Four. There is also a gas Barbeque grill and laundry facilities at the rear of the unit.
There is no end to the array of activities that await you at Hale Pua Malia. Some examples are swimming, surfing, snorkeling, fishing, ocean kayaking, jogging or simply reclining in a large beach chair to watch one of our world famous sunsets. You will observe local residents participating in a myriad of activities such as; net fishing, spear fishing, surfing and local canoe paddling teams in training. If you are fortunate enough to arrive during a full moon phase, an after dinner moonlight walk on the beach is unforgettable!
Five minutes away from your vacation rental is a series of shopping centers, containing grocery stores, drug stores, dry cleaning services, movie rentals, fast food, and multiple local and ethnic restaurants for your dining pleasure. Also nearby are six golf courses, tennis courts, and a historic train ride attraction.
Just a short commute away are more venues for your viewing, shopping, and dining pleasure. The Waikele outlet Shopping Center features name brand designers such as Ralph Lauren, Anne Kleine, and Geoffrey Beene. The USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Missouri, and the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet are just a convenient commute from your location. The North Shore is approximately 30 minutes away with world famous surfing beaches, and visitor highlights such as the Macadmia Nut Farm, the Dole Plantation tour, Waimea Falls, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and several local luau’s, shops, and restaurants.

Our first trip to Hawaii. We knew we didn't want to stay in the city, but wanted to have easy access to the main highways. We also wanted a true beach holiday. This cottage ticked off all the requirements on our list and had such character. We just loved the lush green and flowering back yard. You do need to rent a car, but if you don't want the city holiday, it's the way to go. The view from the beach at night of Honolulu is beautiful, and the sunrise on the beach was just spectacular. If you like history, the Ewa Beach area is full of it. The area was once a sugar plantation. Take the restored vintage train from Ewa to the west coast. The Hawaiian Train Society does a fantastic job.It's a 90 minute return trip. A great excursion that's very reasonably priced. Getting places was so easy as we were very close to the main highway that goes up to the freeway. Just don't plan any get a ways during rush hour. After 9am to leave, and return to Ewa before around 3:30, or if time permits then stay out til after 5:30. Don't forget that you have an amazing beach just down the path. Nobody was using it when we first arrived and we were a bit nervous, but the locals came out on the weekend to swim,surf,boogie board,snorkel and fish. Laurie is so kind to supply beach shoes, snorkel gear, boogie boards and the thickest, softest beach towels ever! This is a real Hawaiian neighborhood, so don't be surprised that this area is not touristy. This was the ideal place for our family to stay. Thank you Laurie for your very yummy gifts for our arrival. The fruit, chocolates, and Hawaiian coffee made for an amazing first breakfast.

This was our first and best experience with renting a house vs. hotel on Oahu and we definitely will never rent a hotel in Waikiki again! After making several calls to several rental companies (last minute planning I should add), I instantly knew I found the right company when I met Darla - she was so fun to talk to, had so many suggestions on what to do! I told her that I could talk to her all night - she was truly wonderful to talk to! We knew that another party was checking out the same day and they were departing late as we arrived early so didn't expect to get into the house until 4 pm. Well - we spoke to Laura to see if we could park outside of the house to hang out by the beach and she (I believe - most likely rushed the cleaning process) to ensure that we could have access to the house early. We showed up and Laura was there to warmly greet us, show us around and give pointers on what to do. The house was immaculate - has everything we could possibly need. It was great to have a spare room for my husband to work in. I really loved entering the house hearing Hawaiian music playing on the TV - I kept it on the entire time we were staying there! This house is perfectly located for traveling to North or South shore... we drove around the entire island in one full day - it was awesome! Our favorite beach to layout was Ko Olina Lagoons - which was less than 30 minutes away. Everything was a hop, skip and a jump away. Safeway, Foodland, Subway, Starbucks, Gas stations, Zippy's were all very close to the house. Oh my - I must mention that Laura spoiled us rotten with treating us to a chocolate coconut cream pie from Ted's Bakery just for the 2 of us :) heaven! On top of that - she just sent us a farewell gift in the mail. Laura and Darla sure know how to please their customers! I will definitely keep in touch with them especially when I plan our next trip to Hawaii! They are truly the best!!!
