Quote from recent guest: "The view from your deck is so interesting because it changes with the time of day and the weather. Wednesday night the moonlight was so bright it lit up the deck and we could see the mountains and clouds. Thursday morning we saw low clouds with the mountains rising above. With the sun coming up and the clouds moving around, the scene changes every couple of minutes."
Reviews from other guests: "We spent 2 nights in this absolutely beautiful home. Everything was extremely clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. The beds were very cozy as well. Local information and clear check-out instructions were provided. The views from upstairs and from the wrap-around deck were gorgeous. The hosts were great about communicating with us at every step of the way. They even mailed us an item we left in the house inadvertently. We would gladly stay here again. Thank you so much."
"Our stay in the log cabin bathed in natural light was the perfect place to celebrate a 70th birthday! The owners were very gracious and thought of our every need. The views of the mountains were spectacular . The cabin was spacious, super clean and provided us with all the comforts of home and then some. We’ll be spreading the word about this great cabin!!"
"Spent the last 2 weeks here recovering from a major surgery. It was so wonderful to wake up to such a beautiful view every morning! The pot belly stove is such a cozy setting to read and relax by. The entire cabin was just what we needed!"
"Fantastic secluded spot with beautiful views and all the modern comforts you could ask for. The cabin was absolutely SPOTLESS and very comfortable. Hosts have provided a terrific guest experience and everything from the TVs, showers, linens, beds and information shows how much they care about the comfort and convenience of their guests. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to experience Western North Carolina and the Asheville area. Great place and couldn’t have been more pleased."
"Jean Ann and Russ were the most delightful hosts! Their log home in the mountains was magical, beautiful, clean, quite, and what a real vacation means to us — tranquility. We went to a wedding and traveled into Asheville, Weaverville, and surrounding equestrian, hiking and fishing locations. The home is located in Fairview which is a perfect location situated close to Black Mountain and Asheville. Jean Ann welcomed us with a notebook of things to do, shops and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Asheville. Thank you Russ and Jean Ann for sharing."
"This cabin is in perfect condition — the most beautiful we’ve stayed in. We came here for our anniversary and had the most relaxing get-away."

We stayed here for 3 nights in August. Everything was as described on Flipkey and even more stunning in person! Every morning, we enjoyed listening to the critters along with our coffee on the deck. Jean Ann was very accommodating, even with our constantly changing schedule on our arrival day, and made every effort to meet us.
We particularly loved the beautiful master bedroom and large luxurious bathroom. The furnishings throughout were lovely. The kitchen was very well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. Fairview is about a 25-minute drive to downtown Asheville, but the area is quite accessible and the views are well-worth the drive. We thought it was a very fair price for the quality of the accommodations. We had such a wonderful time, and we would return in a heartbeat! Read more

What a wonderful cabin in a wonderful location. You're 20 mins from asheville, 10 mins. from Black Mountain. We made the hour drive to Hot Springs to relax in the hot tub filled with water from the natural hot springs. The cabin was decorated so nicely with everything you could need. Loved the private area, very private driveway and being so close to an Ingles was great. There was even a pony farm 5 mins. away from cabin, we stopped and fed them apples, so cute. If you're staying in the asheville area and want comfort and perfect location this is it. I'm very picky about where I stay and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Plus the owner is a delight to deal with and leaves a nice treat for you. Read more

We liked the house very much. It exceeded our high expectations from viewing photos prior to our arrival. The house is very private with no neighbors in view. Good seating inside and out for reading or relaxing. There is lots of open space and lots of light. Nice hardwood floors. The beds were very comfortable and with great pillows. Very well appointed bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped. The grill is new. We had cell voice service and good wireless in the house. The instruction manual was very complete and handy.
The view from the deck is so interesting because it changes with the time of day and the weather. Wednesday night the moonlight was so bright it lit up the deck and we could see the mountains and clouds. Thursday morning we saw low clouds with the mountains rising above. With the sun coming up and the clouds moving around, the scene changed every five minutes.
We hiked to two great waterfalls right off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
There is a very nice, new Food Lion grocery store in Fairview that has a Redbox DVD rental machine for anyone looking for a movie. We dined at some first-rate restaurants in Black Mountain and asheville.
