Iowa couple finds beach paradise! We are an Iowa couple (semi-retired educators at Marshalltown Community College) who fell in love with Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach; we know you will too!

You will also love our condominium villa at Amelia Landings Resort. It is nestled in a very secluded, oak-lined, serene setting. Yet, you are a five- to ten-minute walk to a public ocean access on beautiful Amelia Island beach!

A short, private drive leads you through the Resort to our building, and there is ample off-stree parking. Our villa is on the second floor of a three-story building housing three units. (Unfortunately, there is not an elevator ...Read more

Additional Location Information

We are two blocks from the beach, and there is a convenient beach access for cars and pedestrians. We are two blocks or fewer from a great seaside restaurant (Sliders), two ice cream stores, a seafood restaurant (Cedar River), small specialty shops, a tremendous walking/biking/hiking trail, and more. Amelia Island is 13 miles long and 2 1/2 miles wide, so a car is recommended for sightseeing. Fernandina Beach is the primary city on the Island, and it has a 50-square block area on the National Historic Register. At the north end of the Island is historic Fort Clinch; at the south end is Talbot Island Park. There is a wonderful, inexpensive small museum featuring the history of the Island, including how the Island has flown under eight flags, more than any other city in the US. You may tour a lighthouse.
You may take a trolley tour, ride a carriage, or take a cruise while the driver or captain narrates the wonderful legends and historic sites on and around the Island.
You can easily get to and from the Jacksonville International Airport in about 30 minutes. Downtown Jacksonville is about the same distance away.
