“We loved that apartment in the old medina” Well really enjoyed our apartment inside the ancient medina of FES... nice furnitures, tiles, rooms, lights... a kind of maybe 6/7 different stages from ground floor to the double terrace with a special view over the roofs of Fes. Perfect to us.

“the1001 nights palace” More than a tremendous house, this is the 1001 nights palace in the heart of the Medina. We spent a week there during in May with our 3 children. The cooker is exceptionnal. A very exotic and luxuous place decorated by original artworks.

About Fes

Fes, Morocco is a fascinating place to visit. There are many historical sites to see here as the city is considered the nexus of the country's culture and religion. The old quarter of Fes features numerous ancient monuments, mosques, and marketplaces. The city is also rich in artistic ability. Pottery, tiles, and woodcarvings are popular hand crafts that are exquisite to behold and watching artisans create them is an even more extraordinary sight. While you are here, be sure to enjoy the delicious cuisine and magnificent architecture.

Here are a few additional suggestions of things to do in Fes:

  • Cafe Clock Cooking School: Once you have sampled some savory Moroccan dishes, head here to discover the trade secrets on how to prepare them yourself.
  • Medina of Fez: This is the old quarter of the city, which was originally settled sometime near the year 900. This area is trip back in time, full of winding passages and ancient architecture.
  • Dar Batha Museum: This museum is a Hispano-Moorish palace that features an exquisite collection of traditional Moroccan crafts.
  • Seffarine Square: This square is the place where many craftsmen practice their art by shaping and polishing everything from copper pots and plates to cauldrons.
  • Bab Bou Jeloud: If you want to see architectural buildings that inspire wonder, be sure to visit this gateway. It is a busy area that is an excellent place to begin your journey through the Medina.
  • Nejjarine Museum of Wood Arts and Crafts: Also known as the Inn of the Carpenters, this museum was once considered one of the world's largest hotels for merchants. It now consists of three floors of exhibits that showcase woodworking and assorted artifacts.

You can enjoy all of the comforts of home in this exotic locale when you book a vacation rental. Be sure to rent an apartment or condo near the city center for your next getaway; you won't be disappointed!

Dar 7 Louyat - XVth c. riad - a haven of peace
In a word, beautiful...

If you are traveling to Fez, call off the search for a place and book your stay here! We stayed at Dar 7 Louyat in June and could not have been more delighted. The house is absolutely beautiful (the rooms were impeccable, the patio is gorgeous, and the view from the rooftop deck is breathtaking) and the service was excellent (the meals prepared the cook Myriam were delicious). Additionally, The house is central to everything you want to do in the old town. In a word, we loved this "Dar".see more
Dar Daheb, traditional house in the medina
beautifully renovated riad at the heart of the medina

The house has been beautifully renovated with lovely attention to detail, its much better than the photos! It's located in the medina & provides with a genuine view on local people living their daily lives. It's a 5-10 min walk from one of the main medina hubs (place R'cif) a 2 mins walk to a taxi area which can get you to Bab bou jeloud which only takes about 5 minutes and costs about 7-10 dirhams: it's close enough to roam through some of the essential parts of the medina & just far enough to also experience s/t more authentic and quiet. The friendly amina runs the daily routine at the Riad. (she leaves next door). And she is a great cook. We stayed for 11 nights. With an 18month old, it felt right. Without children & more time on your hand, 5 days in Fes feels about right.see more
DAR BABEL COZY AND TRENDY RETREAT IN THE HEARTH OF THE MEDINA
Felt like at home in a middle age neighbourhood !

We had a wonderful stay in this house.. We were welcomed by the concierge and the cook, which is precious as getting around the medina is quite an experience for those who don't know it.. The house is so nice with all kind of small details that make the place lovely and comfortable. We loved the cook with typical moroccan food (tajines, couscous, pastilla and all kinds of salads) She cooked for us the whole day and when we were back from our touring, dinner was ready .. Neighbourhood is quite quiet although you can't miss the Muslims'calls to prayer...see more
Dar Jameel. Pretty traditional house in the Medina
Perfect location, Beatifully renovated, Spotless, Brilliant.

My three friends and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful little ryad, Dar Jameel. The owner Steve pulled out all the stops to make our holiday amazing , starting with the pick up from the airport, organizing our trip out to Volubilis (a must see),dinner out in The Walled Garden and the Family restaurant. He even took us for a sneak peak at an ongoing renovation project etc etc the perfect host, with a great sense of humour. Breakfast every day was superb served at Dar Houdou, another gem to stay in.We all throughly enjoyed our stay at Dar Jameel it was so great to have the whole place to ourselves.see more
