Finkum (Feinsum) is located 9 kilometers north of Leeuwarden, along the Finkumervaart. This canal is part of the Eleven Cities Route, well known for skating.
On the canal is a small port and you can also fish.
For children there is a large playground and you can find a bowling alley.
Northwest Friesland is an attractive area for the visitor who loves authenticity. The landscape is dotted with small villages, always with a small old church. After every two to three kilometers awaits a new surprise. It is the land of the beets, onions and carrots; your food is grown here.
