“Perfect Apartment in Fabulous Location”
“Uffizi Apartment” was the perfect place for me to stay for a research trip in late June 2014. I would recommend it, and Rossella as its owner-manager, unequivocally. The apartment is tastefully and elegantly decorated, very comfortable, and quiet and peaceful. Upon entering the apartment, after taking either the elevator or walking up three flights of stairs, there is a small vestibule with a coat hook and a utility closet with any tools, extra trash bags, etc. that you may need during your stay. The kitchen is across from the front door, and has a microwave, two-burner electric stove, a small refrigerator, Italian espresso maker, and a sink with a drying rack above. While it would be difficult to make elaborate meals in this kitchen, I happily made risotto, pasta, veal chops, salads, and other foods that could be cooked on a stove. The living room has a traditional wooden Florentine ceiling, and a large window facing out towards a small courtyard. Rossella has very sensibly put screens on all the windows in the apartment, so there is no threat of mosquitoes or other bugs coming inside. Having lived in numerous Florentine properties over the years, I can attest that this is a Godsend! There is a new, flatscreen television mounted to the wall; it has numerous Italian channels and a DVD player underneath it. Rossella has very thoughtfully purchased various American, British, and Italian films, and I enjoyed watching “Roman Holiday,” “Ocean’s 12,” and “My Cousin Vinny.” Next to the television is a credenza with dishes and tablecloths and a dining room table that seats six; I used the table for both eating and as a desk, for which it was more than adequate. Behind the table, underneath the stairs leading up to the bedroom, is a very soft sleeper sofa, and a bookshelf with numerous guidebooks, art history tomes, novels, and other books. Upstairs – the apartment is like an American-style loft apartment with stairs leading up to an open upstairs room – is a charming and romantic bedroom. There is a very comfortable king bed with lovely foam pillows (Italian-style “letto matrimoniale,” with two twin beds pushed up next to each other), two nightstands, a small bureau, two large closets, and most importantly, an air-conditioning unit next to the window. The A/C was easy to use, with a remote-control switch, and very much appreciated during Florence’s typically hot summers. Completing the bedroom is a whole wall decorated with framed art copies of famous Marian images. As an Italian Renaissance art historian, I adored going to sleep with all these beautiful pictures. The bathroom is quite large, with a tub with shower, toilet, bidet, and sink. The washer is also here. It is a typical Italian washer – quite small and full of strange, for an American, nobs and settings. Rossella has very helpfully included easy-to-use English instructions with the washer. I must admit that I had some problems using it; I followed the instructions exactly, but the cycle ran for almost 6 hours (!) and then did not drain out the water. My black pants and underwear also came out with rust stains on them. This was the only bad experience I had in the apartment, and Rossella was very apologetic, professional, and helpful about it; when I checked out, she told me she would immediately inspect it and possibly call a repairman, and she additionally comped my water utility fee. I am sure the washer will be working just fine for any future guests as Rossella is extremely conscientious about everything in the apartment. I loved the stay I spent in “Uffizi Apartment,” and hope I will be able to return soon. The apartment was the perfect place for me to work and live, and when my husband visited me at the end of my stay, a very romantic spot for us to spend our time in Florence. Rossella is everything you would hope for in a home rental owner-manager; so helpful, caring, friendly, and thoughtful. She truly cares about making sure her guests have the best experience, and it certainly shows in all the special touches she has put in the apartment: from the coffee and olive oil ready for you in the kitchen when you arrive to the collection of maps and guidebooks in the living room to the restaurant coupons she specially arranges for her guests. Needless to say, she is the epitome of Tuscan hospitality, grace, and charm.
There is no better location in Florence than the situation of this apartment. The accommodation was perfect for a week of sightseeing and Rosella was a wonderful host. We stayed at this apartment in the second week of January 2014 and it was our first trip to Florence for some years. We have rented apartments in other Italian cities over many years and this apartment is certainly one of the best with respect to organisation, welcome and amenities. But the most important feature is the location within metres of the Ponte Vecchio and the cafes of the Piazza Signoria. Thank you Rosella for being such a charming host.

“Ours was an exceptional rental experience, down to the last deta”
We've been renting apartments in Italy for 5 years, and no one has even come close to creating such a charming rental with so much character as Rossella has. There's romance in that woman's soul which is apparent in every detail from heart shaped pillows to floral comforters. She even provided cologne along with the shampoo and soap in the bathroom. There is a straw hat hanging in the entry hall that no doubt was purchased many years ago at the Straw Market, which now sells mostly leather and scarves and is located only about 3 blocks from the apartment. No other property owner has ever obtained a discount for us at a local restaurant, a great one at that, nor offered us a gift certificate for a sandwich down the street as she did for our friends. I have never before seen so many art books written in English available to renters, nor a binder bursting with suggestions on what to see and do. Her rent is so competitive, she really doesn't need to do any of this, but she does. The apartment sets a mood with its thick walls, tile floors, and beamed ceilings. You feel a real sense of history in this building, but it's concession to this century is an elevator. It looks exactly like it does in the photos with soft lighting and a decor that reflects a woman's touch. You won't find a better location, since it is 2 blocks from the Ponte Vecchio, one from the arno river, 3 or 4 from the Duomo and the Uffizi is across the street. Though small, the kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal or two as we did.Don't look for an oven, as they are not typical in Italian rentals, since most food is prepared on the stove top. While it was cold outside, we were warm and comfortable in the apartment and had plenty of hot water. We never used the washer, preferring the local laundromat where we had our clothes washed, dried and folded. We liked it so well, we have booked it again for May of this year.

“A Gem of a Rustico”
From the moment you meet Rosella, you feel as if you are visiting family. She made us feel very welcome and was very thorough in ensuring we would have a nice stay. The apartment is full of old world charm that makes one want to stay indoors rather than see one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There is no better location in Florence and one is close to all the major attractions and sights. It was very convenient to run upstairs and drop things off or freshen up before continuing sightseeing. To make things perfect, Around the corner is the wonderful Tratoria antico Fattore which will treat one like royalty especially if they know hat you are a guest of Rossella. Would definitely stay again.
“A delightful place to stay in Florence”
I stayed at Rosella's apartment in Florence for one week and did not want to leave. It has all the romance and charm of Florence all rolled up in those four walls. The decor is very much Tuscan style but also extremely comfortable with everything we needed for the week's stay. Everthing was immaculately clean and well maintained. Rosella's written information was very useful but she was also very helpful about anything we needed. We love second hand markets and were keen to see one in Italy. Rosella was once again able to direct us to one within walking distance. Everthing was in walking distance! Great position to all of the galleries, musums and landmarks such as the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi. High speed WiFi also meant finding everything easily. Also I would have say that Rosella' apartment and Rosella' s welcome make the Uffizi apartment value for money. Hope to get back one day.

“Too Good To Be True, But It Really Is.”
My wife and I had the pleasure of renting this apartment in February of this year. We didn't know what to expect, but friends had assured us that we would enjoy our stay and we did. The apartment was comfortably laid out with a small kitchen and living/dining room downstairs and a bedroom and full bath upstairs. For our use, there were Art books written in English, an exhaustive compilation of local resources by the owner with suggested places to visit, and what must be described as provisions left for us. These included a bottle of a very nice Chianti, milk, Nutella, jam, tea, sugar, a pound of coffee, little packaged toasts and a panini gift certificate for a small deli down the street. All that food inspired my wife to do some cooking, not to save money, but to experience cooking and shopping in Florence. We had so often seen things in markets that we would like to try, but couldn't as hotel guests. So this trip we had Florentine sausages and eggs for breakfast and Chicken Cacciatore with polenta for dinner. Rosella had all the kitchen equipment we needed, and even provided soap for washing the dishes. This apartment made all the difference for us on this trip. We felt less like tourists and more like Italians. We have decided to use apartments from now on. The cost was so little compared to a hotel, that this apartment makes Florence a perfect city to use as a base for daytrips to other Tuscan and Umbrian cities. We look forward to a longer stay next year. It was cold but our utility bill was only 12 euro for a full week. Even though we have traveled to Florence many times over the last 25 years, we saw more this trip than on any other, because we could afford to stay for an entire week.
“Charming Isn't the Half Of It...”
This apartment transports you to another time and place. From the Uffizi reproduction paintings and prints on the walls to beamed wooden ceilings and stairs to the bedroom, this apartment makes it easy to imagine yourself a true Florentine. I live in a modern home, so the mood set by the muted decor, embroidered linens, and antique furniture was very appealing and surprising in many ways. The owner, Rossella, has put so much detail and effort into setting this mood, much more than anyone would reasonably expect in a vacation rental. It's obvious that she is emotionally invested in providing a unique experience for her guests. I've rented other places and have never seen a binder, so loaded with information for the traveler, including places to buy food, stores, outdoor markets, gelaterie, restaurants, Internet sites. This woman has thought of everything and I tried many of her recommendations with wonderful results. I recommend that you read through her binder before you start your week. You won't need to bring a guidebook with you. The location is exactly as stated with the Uffizi just across the street, and the Arno river one block away. The Ponte Vecchio is less than half a block from there. I cannot wait to go back! Of all the rentals I saw online, this was one of very few to have an elevator. Rossella is very easy to contact by phone and was so helpful and gracious; she's as charming as the apartment. The small charge for electricity was small indeed. We only paid 8 euros for 6 nights. The apartment is very secure and on a quiet street.
