Medieval Florence Vacation Rental at Casa del Pozzo
Description from the owner
The "Casa del Pozzo" occupies a dominant position on its hillside and offers a 180° view from the city centre with its monuments, to Fiesole and Settignano, and to the valley of Arno river with its olive groves and its vineyards.
This new accommodation will offer you a charming and unforgettable setting for an ideal vacation. You will find in it all the rustic charm and captivating elegance of Residenza Strozzi and will be taken by the sights and smells of the elegant hillsides of Corbignano: the perfect window on the famous “Tuscan lifestyle”.
It is more than 100 mq large, on two levels: on the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, a living room and a dining room that overlooks a close, private and very large courtyard with the well (il pozzo), plants and flowers, tables where you can have breakfast or dinner, chairs, sun chairs, sofa-beds, BBQ. Here you can rest and enjoy the privacy and the peace of the beautiful countryside with olive trees, cypresses and pine trees.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms with view on Florence and another bathroom.
Easy access to city centre by bus, safe and free parking available, ten minutes from the centre of Florence, and the views are pure Tuscan.
All the main art cities of Tuscany (Pisa, Siena, Arezzo, San Gimignano) are within 1 hour driving.
Florence is a World Heritage Site.
According to statistic produced by UNESCO 60% of the world's most important works of art are located in Italy and approximately half of these are in Florence.
If you travel by car the villa's location at the south-eastern edge of Florence is a good starting point for going on excursions to the Chianti region, to Siena or to the coast, as the feeder road to the autostrada highway (exit Firenze-Sud) is only 3 km distant and can be reached easily without having to pass through the city centre.
The Florence / Central Florence area
Here you live in a green resort, far away from the bustle of the city with its humming motorbikes and honking cars. While the location is far from disturbance, it is only a short bus ride into the city.
All museums are within easy reach, as are the nearby small towns of Fiesole and Settignano. The hill of Settignano, just behind the estate, preserves some of the most attractive Florentine villas. Wonderful walks lead towards Settignano, Corbignano and, through of wood of cypresses, as so far as Fiesole.
It was in these hills designed by man that Giovanni Boccaccio, Desiderio da Settignano, Bernardo and Antonio Rossellino, Michelangelo, Leigh Hunt, Charles Armitage Brown, Janet Ross, Edward Hutton, Mark Twain, Niccolò Tommaseo, Gabriele D'Annunzio, Bernardo Barenson and many others found their inspiration.
