Florence city centre is a ZTL zone which means a “limited traffic zone” and therefore special rules apply to when you can enter this area. This particular apartment is in fact located within the ZTL zone so this means that if you are thinking of coming to Florence by car and wish to drive around and park, then you will need to pay special attention to the road signs, CCTV cameras and access cameras (they will show either a red/green light) in order to avoid receiving fines. Guests who need to travel within the ZTL zone by car to reach their apartment are advised to contact one of the private garages in the centre (the one nearest the apartment you are staying in) and obtain a temporary access permit. Upon arrival at the garage, guests must specify they need access for the ZTL and the garage will then note the vehicle’s number plate and forward it to the appropriate police headquarters.

Our holiday did not get off to a good start as we were given the wrong info re arrival. We were asked to call when we were half an hour away , which we did and I asked about getting to the apartment or office for the keys. I was told not to go to either so assumed we wait at SMN station. We called the contact no several times over a 40 min wait and no answer. Then I sent a text asking them to answer the phone as we were very tired, hungry and anxious to get settled. Then eventually I got a call asking why we did not go directly to the apt. We had no map and had not once been told to do so until that point. We went to the area but could not find the entrance so called again and the lady came to collect us. The apt is cosy with a nice little terrace. The bed is comfy but the loo is a nightmare as the ceiling is very low over it . The air con did not work at all , there was no hot water for a shower and the Tv remote did not work. We had to go and buy batteries for it. The man came to check the problems and said the flat had been vacant for a long time and that the water would heat up. It did but only after we ourselves searched for a heater switch. I would have thought that the lady would have checked all this whilst awaiting our arrival.. Do not think we would use this company again. Our main concern was the tel no was an emergency one so God help us if we had one .
