“A tad disappointed with interior, though back deck is nice.”

I'll start this review with a few caveats. I'm writing this review on the first day of a one week stay at "Low Places" at Folly Beach. I've been to Folly before (last summer) and stayed in a beachfront home with friends who rented from avocet Property Mgt. Home was fantastic as was property mgt. company. Also, when I spend over $4000 for a rental, I have a high level of expectations.
So now that I've gotten that out of the way, let me give you first day impressions. House layout is a bit odd. 4 bedrooms but only master has view of ocean. Carpet was very dirty. I don't mean a little dirty but very dirty. It makes me wonder what other dirt is around I'm not seeing. How hard would it be to have the carpet steamed clean? Furniture could use a bit of refreshing as well. Again, this is expensive house and rental, so you expect a certain level of quality. No hook-up for ipod to stereo which should be norm in most rentals. We gave the master bedroom to the couple we are sharing the house as we had the master in last years rental. The room we're staying in is comfortable. Though in the bathroom, the toilet paper holder is broken in two (one piece of hardware is missing)so the toilet paper just sits on the counter. How hard is it to replace the toilet paper holder?
On the plus side, the beach side decks are quite nice. Seems to be a quiet street and house is large. Again, just first night, so il see how the rest of the week goes. I'll close by saying I love folly beach and avocet properties is great to work with (just clean the carpets!)

We have vacationed in Folly for over 30 years. For the last six years we have taken friends to share in this wonderful little beach town. Ours and two other families stayed in Low Places last year. It was the perfect house. There were beautiful views from all levels, plenty of room, a great kitchen and perfect beach location. The reverse layout was really cool. An elevator was provided for those who had difficulty with the many stairs. The front, back and side decks were great gathering places.

Our family stayed there the week of July 4th and we loved every minute. Beautiful home on the ocean, lots of room, great views, wonderful porches, and good view of fireworks from the upper decks on the 4th. Wish we could do it again this year and hope to again in the future.
