There are well stocked trout lakes and rivers for the fisherman, both coarse and game anglers.
The walking and cycling enthusiast is well catered for with the 70 mile long “Ribble Way” following the course of the River Ribble from its source at Ribble Head to the estuary at Preston. Wolfen Mill is located just 1 mile north of the picturesque village of Chipping which has won a number of best kept village competitions over the years. The village is known to be at least 1000 years old and is named in the Doomsday book as Chipping Den. The village now has a 17th century school and Alms houses, 15th century church, several traditional Inns and some lovely stone built cottages that date from its industrial past.
