Description from owner

Description

We specialise in welcoming family groups for holidays and celebrations and accommodate up to 8 people, though we will consider 10 if the group consists mostly of couples.

Corporate bookings are more than welcome, and we have the expertise to liaise between Management and your Teams to provide them with a Home from Home while working in our local community.

We also welcome solo travellers with a toddler or baby, with a discount available on request for the use of only one bedroom. Our price, however, is for the exclusive use of the whole house, parking and gated garden.

Glenisla House is a traditional 4-bedroom, sandstone, terraced townhouse, situated in a quiet little lane which forms part of the Forfar Heritage Trail, only 500 meters through an historic Vennel to the town centre. This early 19th Century, listed property, accommodates 8 to10 people plus a baby cot. It is ideally suited as a family holiday home, or for small groups who wish to take advantage of the beautiful scenery surrounding the town, the numerous activities available in the area, or as accommodation for joint family celebrations. Accommodation comprises a large open plan, family/dining/kitchen with dining seating for 10, couch, wall units and upright piano, and fully equipped kitchen area with wall and base units; double family bedroom suite which consists of a triple bedroom (with cot) with a double and single bed and a separate small single room with an adult size single bed; a well proportioned hallway with a newly fitted WC with Wash Hand Basin, (which means there are now toilet facilities on all 3 levels) , and traditional curved stairway with ornamental balustrade and stained glass window; a balcony landing with ornamental balustrade leading to a further 2 double bedrooms (one with king size traditional style bedroom suite), and another with twin beds and a large lounge with seating for 10, with hand carved oak fireplace, and electric feature fire, and ornamental corniced ceiling; and newly fitted bathroom with pedestal wash hand basin, WC, and over bath power shower (bath seat provided).

The basement area has been opened out to incorporate a games room with 2 double Japanese futons, additional seating, and 4-piece family bathroom. Outside space provides a fully enclosed, and gated, garden across the lane, neatly laid to paved areas and mature shrubs, with barbeque area. The chipped driveway provides parking for 2 cars (3 with practise), and additional public parking within 100 metres. A substantial welcome pack will be provided on arrival and linen is included. Well behaved pets will be welcome at the discretion of the owner at no extra charge. (A small pet bond may be required against any damage, refundable on exit if all has been well). We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to what is our other home x

“A home from home”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2019

Had the pleasure of staying here twice this month I am local to Forfar and had family coming over from USA decided to book Glenisla house from reading positive reviews and so glad we did x very accommodating as there was another booking in the middle of our holiday Anne accommodated our needs and more. Nothing was too much trouble very attentive host who kept in regular contact throughout our stay and beyond. Had very minor issues with TV and front door was all dealt with within an hour. Lovely peaceful quiet location . Suited our needs as we had 3 people staying full time but we were able to have various family members to come and stay over throughout our stay which would not have been possible in a hotel or even in my own property as I don't have the room. A real jewel in Forfar which I really can't recommend highly enough. Would love to hire with a group of friends if needed in the future X
