“Better than hoped” I was skeptical about renting a cabin. This has become the best vacation my wife and I have had. The cabin is wonderful-a great view and plenty of space for two. We are already talking about when we can do e back.

“Wonderful and Quiet Cabin” The cabin was wonderful and high on a hill where it was very quiet. The cabin is central to Cherokee, Cashiers and Dillsboro which are the places we visited. The cabin was really nice and we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and seeing 2 baby deer eat each morning. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of places to sleep. The TVs were a little tricky and we never figured out how to be able to watch TV even with the instructions that were left there. Also, you will be warned about the steep drive up which is very scary at first but once you do it a few times it gets less scary. We did arrive at 4:00 PM for check-in but was told when we pulled up that they were still cleaning the cabin. After a 4 hour drive to get to the cabin we stood for an hour in the driveway until 5:00 PM waiting for it to finished being cleaned. I did call the property manager as I was instructed to do in the email I had received, but I did not get an answer. I emailed the property owner to inform him that we were not able to check in on time and was told by the owner that the property manager was his mom who was cleaning the cabin. He did offer to allow us to stay an extra hour at check out which we took full advantage of. The cabin was clean and so it did not ruin our trip.

“The perfect getaway location!” I cannot say enough nice things about this rental property- from the first email contact to the last, the Millers were outstanding with communication. The property offers a fantastic view of the valley that hypnotizes- before you know it, you've sat on the porch rocking the afternoon away. The cabin itself had everything you could ask for and more- just bring the food and you're good to go. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils & I was able to cook two nights/one morning there without needing a certain pot, pan, or spatula. The living room was cosy and there was enough t.v. channel variety to keep my teenage boys occupied during the short rainy period. The cabin was centrally located and we visited a mine, movie theater, grocery store, arcade, and several restaurants in the area all with in 20-30 minutes, many much less. I plan on making a return trip as soon as I can!

“Review” I had a fantastic time. The cabin had all the kitchen utensils I needed. Many attractions were within a reasonable drive and the city of Franklin had lots of nifty shops and places to eat. I will definitely be back in the future. My stay was nothing short of amazing and the surrounding area is breathtaking.

“Great family retreat with a great view.” This house is situated high enough that you have a great view of the mountain ranges out the great room windows. Enjoyed the large deck and gas grill. If the weather had been a little nicer it would have been a great area to hang out in the evening. We really enjoyed our weekend there. We would stay again if we were back in the area.

“Quiet, comfortable, delicious, interesting and easy!” Quiet, tho we watched a movie and enjoyed the creek flow sounds; comfortable and pretty indoors and out; delicious organic goodies from the garden with tour; interesting to see and learn about the eco architecture; and super easy staying in or going to Bryson City or asheville. We totally enjoyed it and meeting Linda!

“Slice of heaven” I lost my husband of 34 years in 2005 and simply didn't want to return to the mountains until my dear friends convinced me it would do me good to go with them for a relaxing week-end at the Nelson's " retreat in the sky. I'm so thankful I went because we all had such a wonderful time. The home was impeccably decorated and had every amenity you could possibly ask for. The views were breathtaking particularly from the deck. The home sits on top of the mountain so it was as though we could just reach up and touch the clouds! Our days were spent exploring the many shops in Bryson City or nearby towns and our evenings were filled with laughter just relaxing in the jacuzi, playing card games & sharing life's stories. We are presently working out details for our next "Golden" getaway this summer at the Nelson's Retreat and we can't wait!

Fantastic week in the mountains

I would thank Jeff and is family for allowing my friends and I to rent is beautiful home for a week! From the moment of entering the home I new we would have a fantastic week! This has been my 18 year of staying in the Franklin area for annual trip of riding our motorcycles in the mountains and by far our best trip!! The home is fantastic with everything you could ask for in a vacation house! So peaceful and quite yet still very close to all amenities! I forgot the views are out magazine, seeing the sunset and rise on the beautiful deck having a drink or your morning coffee will impress family’s over and over! I would not hesitate renting again! There is also so much to do in close driving distance there is fun for all ages! The small town of highlands is a sort drive away and offers little shops, great food and more!! Once again thanks to Jeff and is family for making our trip the best I have had traveling to the Franklin North Carolina!!see more
The Old Campbell Farm - Franklin, NC - 2BR/1BA, Easy Access, Super Getaway
This was an amazing place to stay.

Staying at The Farm was especially impressive because it combined elements of the historical beauty of the area with so much of what makes for "modern" beauty. The owners are charming and gracious, and clearly love a part of the country we have grown to love ourselves over many years now. Every part of the home shows this - there are things worth preserving, and they have admirably preserved this place.see more

Awesome amazing and relaxing

This was the perfect location for a birthday weekend getaway! Saw 2 does within 3 hours of being at the cabin! While watching the does we heard the buck close by and waited for him to come out but never saw him. We did see the smallest deer of our lives (the size of a small dog). The amenities were perfect and relaxing! I am already recommending the location and can’t wait to go back! Just an all around great weekend and perfect location!see more
