"Cozy and eclectic cabin perfect for weekend getaway!"
Located on ten acres, this wonderful little rustic cabin is eight miles from Fredericksburg. The perfect place for a getaway from the stresses of everyday life.
Das Jager Haus is located down a short stretch of country road, allowing for optimum enjoyment of the peace and serenity of the Texas Hill Country. While guests roam the ranchland, they enjoy the frequent sight of deer and abundant squirrels. The front yard has an old fashioned wire fence and covered patio; perfect for an evening spent watching the stars and enjoying the quiet countryside.
Designed and built by award-winning builder
, this cabin offers a cozy living area with a warm fireplace which features a locally salvaged mantle, one of the many architectural antiques incorporated throughout the home. The kitchen area offers a small refrigerator, microwave, electric skillet and coffeemaker.
The upstairs bedroom loft can be reached by outside stairs or by an old fashioned loft ladder inside. The queen-size bed is covered with high thread count sheets and topped with "memory foam" for a wonderful night's sleep. The bedroom, like the rest of the cabin, is furnished with an eclectic mixture of antiques, collectibles, and memorabilia. The highlight of the bedroom is the ceiling painted to resemble the sky. Look closely and you will even find a small airplane.
Relaxing at Das Jager Haus is not complete until you have enjoyed the large sun room with stone floors, log ceiling, and romantic whirlpool tub for two. Double french doors open onto a small, private deck tucked into the surrounding woods. Strung between the trees is a hammock for an afternoon nap.
Das Jager Haus, which is located just North of Fredericksburg and a mile shy of the highly acclaimed Hill Top Cafe, is also a great spot for those of you looking for a base for cycling and hiking throughout the Hill Country.

We had the best time! Romance rebloomed, adventure all around, beautiful animals! Lots of hidden treasures all around the entire property for the explorer, and the artist! Best food in town Fredricksburg, and beer and don't forget all the wonderful wine tastings. also down the road is Enchanted Rock, a must see for the avid hiker or historian. Best part was the jet tub inside after the hiking and, playing. The best part was the outdoor shower. Loved it so much we had to stay an extra day to make sure we didn't miss the awesome treasure hunt. Loved all the old indoor games as well!! Can not wait to make it back!!! We also loved finding all the indoor treasures and mementoes that all the other guests have left and added to the fun inside. Very unique cabin all together. It was clean, fully stocked with everything anyone could ever need!!! Best cabin ever, and we have been to many. The uniqueness of this place doesn't even compare to some of the best located cabins like in Estes Park, which is one of the most beautiful places to visit, but still has noting on this cabin alone.

I would reccomend this B&B; to anybody! Very private place to have a getaway but still minutes from downtown. Cabin has everything for a romantic getaway! Outdoor shower, jacuzzi tub, and bedroom in upstairs loft was all wonderful! Would definately come back to Das Jager Haus!!

Always love our stays in Fredericksburg. The energy and its friendliness is part of the experience and it never lacks ! The only reason we dont do summer B n B's is due to scorpions inside residences and my husbands bee sting allergy. Will be back in fall

The service from Gastehaus Schmidt was wonderful as always. As far ar the Das Jager Haus, not so good... It was just very dirty and way over sold on the website. We wouldn't even think of getting in the hot tub!!! We emailed the owner and complained and he offered us one free night on the next visit. No thanks!!!

The Thompson's will be planning an annual trip to stay. Das Jager Hause was beautiful, clean, fully stocked with supplies. The animals were a blast, we had named them all by the time we left last trip. Perfect lovers getaway, we loved the peace and quiet, also the topping on the cake!!! Beautiful property and well cared for! We love this place and can't wait to get back!!! Only thing not working was the bath spa jets didn't work, but the big bath was good, I hope that is fixed when we come back in October.

My wife and I will be back again and again!! We will not leave Das Jager Haus next time. We spent time in Fredericksburg this trip, it was fun but we could not wait to get back to the house. Total privacy and lots of fun!!! Book your trip now!! The outdoor shower is a must experience too.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and found the secluded cabin tucked away in the woods. The llamas and goats kept their distance but we enjoyed watching them. The rustic quaintness of the cabin was very inviting. The property is a good jumping off place to see area points of interest and was a comfortable, welcome site at the end of our sight seeing. Will stay there again as often as we can.

Great place to get away from it all. We really enjoyed the seclusion that Das Jager Haus provides. Getting to feed the animals was really neat. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a very low-key place to get away from it all.
