I was born in North Carolina. Raised in Maryland, where my father relocated for work. At 18 I started heading south & didn't stop until I reached Guanaja, a pristine Caribbean island in the Bay Islands. When I was a child and watched movies on tropical islands or Gilligan's Island, I knew I was meant to be on a tropical island. My son & I have traveled all over the Caribbean & the South Pacific, but Guanaja was the enchanting forgotten island that drew us, as Bali Hai did the sailors in South Pacific! I had this new property built. I wanted a place like the 'old' Caribbean, before commercialization and modern architecture. I now have exactly that, an unspoiled piece of paradise, where all I see from my property is the beauty of the Caribbean & the reef in the near distance. At night all I hear are the gentle Caribbean waves against the reef & the night creatures singing in their own way.
Why the Owner Chose Guanaja:
My son & I fell in love with the freedom of the island, the people & the feeling that time just stopped here; no condos, no big hotels to block the ocean view, perfect climate, the tap water is even spring water & I could go on..... I bought property & built on this side of the island, because of the beautiful isolated beach, the serenity of not being able to see anything, but the mountains & the Caribbean. GCC is within walking distance of beautiful waterfalls & yet we're just a 15 minute walk to the town of Mangrove Bight.
