My wife, Pippa, and I live in England with our three children. We bought Maine de la Garde in 2008, having fallen in love with it during a holiday in the area. Our first impression was that this was a very special place - incredibly peaceful, full of character, and we still love coming here whenever we can.

Maine de la Garde is a great place to bring the children as there is a huge amount of space for them, and being about 300 m from the nearest traffic it is very safe. There are plenty of things for them to do and see in the area, and they particularly love the lake beach at La Jemaye, which is under 20 minutes away by car. All of which means that we can enjoy the local area, do day trips, or simply relax and unwind.

When we are not here ourselves, the house, garden and pool are looked after by an English couple who live in the vicinity. They are very capable and can always be called upon to resolve any problems should they arise.
