Our family are from Kerala, but I and my sisters were born and brought up in Mysore, where my father ran a small shop until he retired this year. Although my parents don't speak much English, I and my sisters do, as we all attended a local convent school and our education was in English. I and my sister Nivya were taken on a trip to the UK five years ago by my parents' friends Jane and Ashley B., who helped us to set up Rooftop Retreat.
