As you probably have figured out Hawaii is a paradise, a perfect mix of beauty, serenity and fun. It is also the complete opposite of where we live in the greater Seattle area and that is why we choose to buy here. We love Seattle, but for a good portion of the year we do not see the sun and there is no better place to soak up those rays than Hawaii. We particularly love the Big Island for its diversity. The stark contrast between the dry, brittle lava and the lush green of the plants brings two worlds together. We also wanted a place that had a good location…walking distance to restaurants, a beach nearby, and trails to run on. Another criteria of ours was that our location be far enough away from the vog (the volcanic gas from Kilauea) so that it wouldn’t be a constant nuisance.

Our family is growing, we just had our first child last year, and we wanted to start creating memories of fun family vacations with grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends. To us Mauna Lani is paradise.
