We currently live in Utah and have been visiting Mexico for more than 30 years. We have always loved Mexico and even lived and worked in central Mexico for two years.

After visiting all of the major beach destinations in Mexico (Cancun, Puerta Vallarta, Cabo, Mazatlán, etc.) we visited Ixtapa while living in Mexico and fell in love with the small town authentic Mexican feel of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. Amara appealed to us because there were fewer condos and they were larger (all 3 and 4 bedrooms) allowing us to share with our family and friends.
