Kishauwau Cabins has been family owned and operated since 1986 when my in-laws Ben Ellen King purchased the land from the Boyscout Council then Camp Ki-Shau-Wau part of the Starved Rock Area Council. While not knowing what they wanted to do with the property it slowly became a built up family business that has gone through much transformation over the years. From the rustic beginnings of a mess hall now our office and 4 original cabins gutted and renovated into beautiful rentals My husband Jamie Father-in-law Ben along with family and the help of friends constructed an additional 13 cabins over the next 20 years.With the passing of both my in-laws Ben in 2006 and Ellen in 2010 the legacy continues within the family. Some of the King children have decided to continue the business on this gorgeous property. My husband myself and our children live right on the property the cabins are located on. We take pride in our property and are responsive to any of our renters needs. Since we are local we deal with our guests directly from cleaning to repairs and anything in between. All of our cabin rentals are fully furnished and have all the amenities of home
