Sailwood Adventures is your connection to private wilderness lodging in backcountry Alaska. Surrounded by thick forest, La Caleta (meaning “safe cove†in Spanish) is a clean, comfortable step into rural, waterfront living. This cottage was designed to bring people together to enjoy the protection and whimsey of this small cove.
The main building of La Caleta is open two level layout with sleeping quarters upstairs. The lower portion is devoted for the living room and dining room with full kitchen. A large wrap around deck joins the separate bath house which houses a shower and sauna. A fleet of Sea Kayaks and safety gear are all a part of your stay at La Caleta. Sea Kayaks are a dream for traveling along the shore watching eagles and bears forage for food.
The tempo of the tides and nature rejuvenate your spirit and allow time for wandering. The water access provides many hours of exploring by foot or Kayak towards the head of Sadie Cove. Relaxing activities as tidepooling, beach combing, clam and mussel gathering, sailing, fishing, and cooking fresh meals allow quality time with family and friends.
Sailwood Adventures can provide total support for your trip. We can help with all the logistics, from water taxi transportation, to state park access, complete with guiding services for hiking, kayaking and Mt. biking. If a self designed wilderness adventure with the comforts of seaside living sound interesting to you, contact us for further details.
